While I really dont need another headphone at that price I'm seriously interested for my bedroom system.

HiFi headphone system in the bedroom, glad I'm not the only one.

Jim

Listen every night and good to have handy when sleep is elusive.
At the moment it's a Rega Saturn cdp > Violectric V200> ATHW1000X or Fidelio X!. I was thinking of upgrading the X1 to the new X2 but will hold fire now and see how the PM-3 turns out.

If you count a dorm room as a bedroom as well, then consider me in the club as well

Once again Oppo has surprised the heck out of me.

If they actually hit the market with the prices for the PM-3 and HA-2 that Hastur The Yellow says they're currently targeting, those would seem to be very disruptive prices.

We live in exciting times.

If the HA-2 will natively work with Android phones (Galaxy S/Galaxy Note specifically) then I think I'll be wanting both of these instead of a new DAP/IEM set up.

The local Japan distributor here, Kenzo from Emilai, mentioned to me that the HA-2 launch was going to coincide with an Oppo phone. This morning I read about the Oppo R5 announcement. I'll be curious to see if -this- is the phone Oppo intends to coincide the HA-2 launch with. I've popped a tweet question to Emilai already.

  It can't - the PM-3 has a three-conductor jack on one side

does this mean that an after-market cable that works for the NAD HP50, will also work with the PM-3?
such as V-Moda Audio only cable
or
FiiO RC-MH1
?

E1 Personal Audio‎Head-Fi Meet!
< #Hot!> Be among the first in the world, literately, to experience the Oppo PM3 (planar magnetic) headphones and HA2 portable DAC/amp. Only at this meet!

I guess "among the first" is technically accurate, considering this combo was available for all 3 days at RMAF.
