ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

Would be nice if they could fix the third-party app distortion issue on the DP-X1 first...

I must say, based on software support and getting support with issues from Onkyo, I would never recommend anybody purchasing an Onkyo device at this point.

I think I'm ready to give up. If anybody has a Sony ZX2 they'd like to trade for my DP-X1 then please PM...

more pictures of the two upcoming dap from http://www.phileweb.com/news/audio/201609/02/17682.html

both models will be dual dacs. according to the site they will still be using ESS dac chip, but exact details TBD.

the smaller 2.4inch model

the successor to dp-x1

based from pictures, seems like they will still be using the 2.5mm balanced out.

Nice pictures, thanks for sharing those. Thought the 4.4 balanced output was confirmed earlier though?

How do you like them the Onkyo A800s?

I love the A800, but I never was able to use it with the DP-X1 as mine was sold. I think you were asking about that is this correct?

Interesting, I sold my zx2 and bought Onkyo , felt that it was worth an upgrade in SQ overall. To be honest, I didn't stream anything on both of them so care less for apps.

Hopefully there is a zx2 owner reading your message and writing a PM to me now

Hmm judging from the position of the balanced label, seems I was wrong about the 4.4 jeita, it's a repeat of the DP-X1

'successor' looks like a downgrade.
crazy placement for volume knob, bigger(?) display... CAMERA(??? is that a DAP?).
no speaker - less things to worry about in high humidity environment.

am i right that onkyo ditches second microSD slot ?

plus forms of dp-x1 was really nice ;(
anyway let's see how it rolls out.

Yeah it seems like some better quality control was in order, this sequel seems a bit forced, questionable additions like a camera are unnecassary and will most likely only add to the cost. One of the things the DP-X1 has going for it was it was reasonably priced, at least in comparison to stuff like A&K and these new Sony DAPS.

I'm getting pretty hacked off with the whole thing with DAP's! Glitchy, build issues. What's to like ?!!!

Well on the bright side you can now just carry your DAP while going from booth to booth at audio trade shows, taking pics with the DAP at the same time LOL
