Did not go for the tempered glass, but went all out otherwise

Case - Yes

Fast shipping - Yes

Extra large grin on the face - Yes

Watching my email like a hawk (ps fast shipping is now 4-day shame as when I was hovering over the buy button yesterday it was 3 days!)

As they say Snooze you lose! :basshead:

The DPA-PUX1 leather case is released around the 22nd according to Kaneda of PriceJapan.com, but yeah I got it ordered too.

My grin was SUPERMASSIVE, my wallet was pissed, srsly...

I've not opened or applied the DPA-GL033 tempered glass screen protector as of yet but will do later.

I added an app called AfterShip (thanks to the Head-Fi'er who posted this way back!) and was using it to track my package. Also stalked Parcel Force online and checked my emails every 3 to 5 SECONDS!

I believe you're referring to this in the manual :

It does not mean EU and international units are identical, volume limitation in EU means different volume table.

My Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has this feature of volume warning.

My Onkyo DP-X1 with a Japanese barcode (but universal packaging? Check my pics earlier) does NOT have this volume warning.
I don't think there's a volume limit on my device. I can tell as my AKG K 712 suck juice like nothing, but even at volume 147 it plays well. My efficient KEF Audio M500 are well equipped for this DAP.

Dat black magnetic box...I must confess at first I don't know how to open it lol Maybe I'm too familiar with Chinese DAP package...

The packaging is ACE! Easy, clear, get your toys fast, elegant. The DP-X1 is the same (swap toys for aural bliss ofc).

@clarkydaz what I meant was that you can go to 160 on the EU model with the same listening levels, but your unit needs to be reset every 20 hours and you get an annoying pop up when you cross 130.

This is what we pay our EU representatives for, sheesh

You're welcome :)

Great news :)

I don't think it works like that.

I pushed the EU XDP-100 to max level and there is plenty of distorsion on high gain.
You don't get that with international models from what people have posted.

^ That assumes everybody recognizes the distortion, or that they are all tasking the amplifier enough to produce the distortion. I'm not saying you are wrong, but without a standard testing procedure it is difficult to consider all of those users as producing the same effect.

I miss my M500! I only sold it knowing that I wanted the balanced output of the Onkyo so moved to PM3. Must say that I do really like the PM3 now, but the KEF is beautiful sounding. No coincidence that my new speakers are KEF R300s.

Of course that's not what I am saying, just saying volume limitation on EU models can not be compensated by turning up the volume.

One thing is sure the power rating for the DP-X1 amp should mean it's fairly powerful 2x75mW @ 32ohm in SE or AGC balanced is not bad at all, 2x150mW @32ohm in balanced pretty good. I have said before but the EU XDP-100 on high gain is not as loud as my former ZX2 rated at 2x15mW...

Yeah...well...many people is mistaken or under-estimate the power output the Zx2 can pour out
biggrin.gif
...it has 7 capacitors and a super capacitor for music shake....! How many capacitors is inside DP-X1 ?

I had a EU ZX2, but 2x15mW is 2x15mW... ;)
But it sure made the most of the 15mW, with the meaty dynamic sound

Yeah, it is probably my ears that hear the Zx2 being better than the Mojo running Z7/SA5000/th900 and Mojo is which has hefty more power :D. Damn old damaged ears. Meaty tonal body is the unique thing about Zx2, it is not only meaty, but precise and controlled. It is Japan unit though.

For many years I thought only neutral audio gear was the best gear.

Then in Dec 2013 I bought the KEF Audio M500 at £225 as a Christmas discount at Super Fi in my town (one of the UK's biggest audio chain stores, alongside Richer Sounds).
That headphone changed my perception of audio completely; I still like neutral but I prefer musical gear, even if it errs off studio sound s bit.

Rem, I was an audiophile for 18 year's before, but at the age of (then) 23, I was missing out.
I previously owned AKG K 701’s, Etymotic ER-6i, and try to find ultra cheap neutral amps with bass boost (hello JDS Labs!) to give non-muddy oomph.

Then I heard the KEF Audio M500. MAJESTIC MUSICAL BEAUTIES!

Love them, but they can never be transformed into balanced cans :(

Listening to Disclosure's 'Carcal'!

better picture of the case - DPA-PUX1(B)

Internal of the case looks yellow BTW

Hmm, ok...I guess it's trying to fit the colour of the yellow UI accents of the DP-X1 music app...

Does anyone think this will work with the DP-X1?: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1-pcs-360-Klick-Quick-Button-Smart-Key-for-Smart-Phone-Dustproof-Plug-For-Andriod-4/32257230865.html?spm=2114.01020208.3.11.sSJuSW&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_1,searchweb201644_2_10001_10002_10005_10006_10003_10004_62,searchweb201560_8,searchweb1451318400_6150
I was browsing for dust caps and came across that.
Figured I'll be primarily using balanced output, so a dust plug for the SE jack would be nice.
The idea is quite cool, basically transforms your 3.5mm jack into a button whilst acting as a dust plug too.
