Sadly the blips happen with Tidal on all players. I think it has to be something with Tidal or the way Android reads the files. It is not with all songs so it could be the Tidal file that has an issue

I've tried adjusting every setting including the digital filter and Lock Range Adjust. Still have the blips...I believe you are correct, that it doesn't occur on every song. In fact, I've just played back the same song 10 times, adjusting one parameter each time, and the blips are still there, but random. I was playing different songs on my first DP-X1 and had no blips. On the few I've tried on my new DP-X1, they are present.

with the last update, i don't have SD issues (music stops between songs or hiccups) and brightness has the correct setting on the lower one.

Is that with Tidal "HiFi" files played back from your micro SD card? I have the latest update and still have hiccups/glitches...

so ive done 500 quid on the unit, 450 on cans and now i am looking at 200 aprox on a balanced cable
im looking at forza and its asking me about a splitter ?
serious head do'er this stuff...
Try amazon as well. You should find something cheaper. I spent a little more on cable because of how well constructed and beautiful the cable was made. The cheapest cable you can find will still do wonders on DP-X1 when balanced.
I have the AK-320 and can't really tell much difference between it's balanced and unbalanced output except when I used iAK's s own external amp. But then I find the balanced output of DP-X1 better than AK320 (any output including the amp). All my iems sound very clear, energetic and well-controlled on DP-X1 balanced.

$105 bucks. Surf Cables is a respected brand with some of the more reasonable prices across the board. I plan on picking up some IEM cables for my Shures from them.

I have 2 cables from him. Just make sure when ordering to tell him (in the note section)your exact setup as that helps him.

Hi Guys.
Enjoying my Onkyo dap very much, unfortunately all my earphones have 3.5mm jacks.Would love to hear the benefits of the balanced side of the DP-X1 with the 2.5 mm Input.
Is my only option,to buy new Headphones ? and then purchase an after market lead with MMCX connector?
Apologies if it's in the wrong thread, Can anyone recommend ,a reasonably budget pair of in ears, is my preference.
I don't think or know any other option really, hoping someone will
Regards Steve.

I do prefer to connect my earphones to the balanced output on the DP-X1.
Do all of your current Headphones / Earphones have tethered cables?
For removable cables, there are several stores on AliExpress that sell balanced replacement cables, with different styles of connectors at the earphone end.
If you don't mind a bit of a wait (because he's so busy right now), you can also order custom cables from Lindsay at ImpactAudioCables - https://www.etsy.com/shop/ImpactAudioCables
If you need to buy new earphones with removable cables, there are a couple of threads you could refer to, for budget models -

The update contains the following changes:
1. Enhanced Android system security.
2. Enhanced read SD card stability.
3. Enhanced the LCD panel brightness adjustment.
4. Added the new item in “Gain setting”.
Remark: “Low” is default setting, however “High” is default setting after firmware updated, please beware of the volume.

This is a 723.6 MB download and Onkyo's server is pretty slow... It wil take a while
