Hi guys,

My experience with the dpx1 so far.

Have it 1 month+..

The dpx1 consume most battery with the default onkyo HD player..

Playing through pioneer player save double the battery.

The best battery saving apps will be play all your songs through the foobar.

Mine initially worst.
Only 2 hour max via onkyo player.

Then use the pioneer player.
It last up to 4 -5 hours ( using Can)
Using iem, can last 6-7 hour at aeroplane mode ans volume max 125.

Lastly using the foobar last me 7-8 hours with iem.

It still not giving me satisfaction of 16 hours. But i wont sell it as i really love this player..
Awaitinf update or maybe rooting it will increase the efficiency of thr devices using battery.

My humble opinion.

Thanks,
Jonatahn

Definitely something wrong with Your unit. I've stopped all unnecessery processes and uninstalled almost everything, leaving only player. I have 10-12 hours of playback on Onkyo Music, Pioneer player, Poweramp and Tidal HiFi. Online.

Tested on two units, demo one and my own. 16 and 24 bits.

That’s another story. You didn't mention You use usb out and DSD files. Maybe this is standard playback time, have no idea.

I thought so in view of the much load to run the dsf files ( mostly mine is jazz)..

Plus the dop transfer..which drain much battery for the dpx1..

Hoping someone can enlightened us ..???

Thanks,
Jonathan

Confirmed. That is my way of formating battery too.

I have read that for regular battery maintenance after these initial cycles, for Lithium Ion anyway, you should not let the battery go below about 40% and only charge it to 80% capacity. Apparently based on how these batteries really work this style of discharge/charge actually increases the number of cycles/longevity of the battery. Good luck mind you doing it, but I thought I would mention it.
