ONIX Miracle - New Generation Hi-Fi Streamer

Oh...

Don't ge(t me wrong.
I'd be interested in a product like the Onix.
It is EXACTLY the kind of product I would be looking for.
Probably superb sound (your impressions and my experience with other Shanling products) and set of features that are exactly what I would like to get.

Am I not allowed to state that I think this product does not deliver and remains stuck in the middle of the road to what coud have been the most desirable product in it's class ?

Mind you, I do believe I am as entitled to say I believe this product does not justifiy it's price are you are to tell it does.

And I do not think I have been that "rude" in what I wrote.
I have been in other threads because, as MANY others, I think the brand deserved it (not the poor guy coming around here and trying to calm things down).

Enough talking.
As negative feedback is not welcome here, I'll leave you to your solitary pleasures and enjoy the numerous other comments and answers.

Regards.

@Shanling I have a question for you: I know the ONIX Miracle has two digital output channels: coaxial and optical. If I connected digital out to an external DAC/amp, what do I have to select on the side of the Miracle for digital signal to be sent across? The manual does not cover this aspect. Much appreciated. :)

On Miracle these outputs are active at all times, there is no setting for them.

So, I do not need to select pre-out or any option other than headphone out? The digital signal will just pass to the DAC without doing anything?

Because right now I can tell you: 1. I have the coaxial out connected to the coaxial in on the DAC/amp; 2. I play from the Onix DAP, there is digital signal because I can see the sample rate on the DAC but there is no sound. :)

That setting is just for analog output, it has no impact on the digital outputs.

Please what DAC are you running?

And are you playing files directly on XP10 or XM10?

I tried playing music from the attached HDD as well as from the DAP (via Apple Music). The DAC is the Sony TA-ZH1ES. It should work because the USB connection with the iFi Zen Stream works without a hitch (and I can use it as a NAA on HQPlayer, Airplay, Tidal Connect, or Roon with no issues).

I just tested it to be sure:

XP10, firmware v1.2, playing from USB drive over coaxial. No problem, DAC plays just fine. There is no setting for it, the outputs (bottom ports) are active by default.

With your Sony DAC, does the DAC detect the input signal? Does it show it's getting some signal from the XP10?
Just to be sure, do you have any other DAC you could test?

It does show that there is signal coming in. However there is no sound coming out of the HP amp side of the TAZ.

Maybe try to check around upsampling setting, if you are outputting maybe something that the DAC doesn't support on coaxial input.
And ideally test different DAC if possible.

it is lossless at 44/16. Hardly challenging. Anyway, let's see. I am not going to lug my other heavy DACs over.

My problem with the xm10 included is the power output when on the go.The xm5 offers up to 1w at 32 ohms? Even the alpha XI1 offers up to 500mw and that's a dongle DAC.

Hello all. I'm expecting to recieve my miracle next week. One of the key reasons for my purchase is the apparent compatibility of miracle with the hd800s. After I splashed the cash I discovered a review which recommended that this, the miracle, should not be purchased as it was not a good match for the hd800s. To say that I was dismayed is an understatement, after all, there is a photo of miracle with hd800 on the headline Onix advertising for the product, and @Shanling said that their manager listens to the hd800s with miracle. Do any other members have views on this subject?
Thanks

no idea which review is this considering that there are not many. I love it with the HD800S. :)
