Congrats! Glad you're enjoying them. They really are great headphones and one of my favorites. The only reason I let mine go was so I'd have the cash to spring for the LCD-2, which is a nice step up from the HD650s...hint, hint.

I agree. The LCD-2 is the next best  thing I've heard so far. If you're planning to upgrade in terms of headphones, LCD-2 is the next step up imo. Only $945 + shipping, and I like it over the more expensive cans like HD800 ($1400) and Beyerdynamic T1 ($1300)! For that price, it's very tempting. Put aside cash with every paycheck you receive, and you can sell your HD650, cough up the dough, and reward yourself with a LCD-2 headphones in no time.

After you buy it, you can consider it as a "sunk cost" and not worry about the damage it has done to your wallet

My lord, you guys are pure evil.

Honestly though, my next purchase will probably be SM3s for the gym.  THEN, possibly planar magnetic.

Are LCD-2 that much better than HE-6?

1st post. Looooong time lurker. Congrats. When I purchased mine I had the exact same feeling of, What was I doing all this time listening to what pretty much was crap sound. Download some Louis Armstrong La Vie en Rose. Grab a comfy chair and your favorite beverage. Feel the stress leave your SOUL.

Me?  Crap-phones, then Grado SR80i.  I had the Grados for about 2 weeks (first set blew the speaker, replacement came next day).

Also, why on Sidd's green earth would ANYONE pay as much as I did for the HD 650s on something like Beats?  (I got the HD 650s for $320 open box refurb).

No one who read a bit on head-fi, or did a comparison on those headphones, would, I guess.

Wait, is the E9 a DAC + Amp combo?  Or is it just an amp?  Meaning, you need the E7 docked on top as a DAC right?  & Congrats, I think I'm going to skip all the low-end cans and just save up for these.  I didn't realize they could be driven by a <$200 dac/amp..

E9 is amp only, E7 is needed as a DAC.
