Official Sony WF-1000XM3 Thread - Noise Cancelling True Wireless Earphones
Aug 28, 2020 at 2:03 PM Post #1,276 of 1,494
So, I finally bought these after having (and loving) the over ear XM3's for almost 10 months now - just waiting a few days on delivery. Airpod pros were a consideration (even though I haven't tried them either) because I've heard great things about them, but that Apple cost was/is just too much).

I just hope I get lucky, and my ear shape lets these be comfortable, and a good fit for me. I have no clue what to expect, other than I understand that in ears obviously cannot be as effective as over ears, and I fully accept that.

There are a lot of situations where these could be useful. It seems like so many retail environments, shops, restaurants, etc. just blast music these days. I was walking in Vegas a while ago, and the music was way too f'ing loud. I am hoping that I can get some in ears that dampen a lot of this out. Over ears are just a complete "no go" for hot summers in SoCal. They are also big and conspicious, and you might not want to have to carry them if you're going out for several hours / the whole day.

Hopefully they fit you well. Try different tips than the included ones too.

Congrats!
With the WF-1000XM3 on sale for $178, it is a worthy purchase.
I received my free pair that was included with the Xperia 1II combo.

I personally don't have any issues with fitment with the stock tips that came with the WF-1000XM3.
There are plenty of alternative tips choices that you should find if needed.

I just recently purchased the WH-1000XM3 headphones, but ended up returning them for the newer WH-1000XM4 since they were still within their return period. With both my Best Buy rewards and Birthday coupon, I saved myself $80...worth the additional $40 that I paid for the WH-1000XM3 new from Newegg.

I recently purchased the Sony WF-1000XM3 for £100 boxed in brand new condition at my local CEX. Those true wireless IEMs are wonderful. I’m surprised how good they sound considering they don’t support LDAC or aptX and aptX HD. They are better sounding than the previous model that I also own with rich deep bass, good mids and excellent highs. The soundstage is not bad either with good instrument seperation and good sound resolution. They sound awesome paired with my iPhone 11 Pro.

Possible SCAM, but went ahead with the purchase for a "white" set.

Knowing this is coming from China and risking the chance that it will be false advertising.
For under $30 and hoping that they are true as what they are advertising, it well worth the headache.
Pay via PayPal with buyer's protection will at least help with any return/refund issues if this doesn't turn out to be true.

This will be my back up set.

This can almost only be a scam at that price

I bought a refurbished set on Amazon for $99.99. Since it had a 90-day return policy, I thought it was worth the risk. I like them enough to keep.

I actually bought my pair for $40, and yeah they were/are authentic. The seller marked them as 'used,' but they just looked like an "open box" when I got them, and everything looked almost new (all the packaging/inserts included perfectly).

Congrats. That's a great deal.

Today, I had to watch a brand new, unopened set of Focal Utopia headphones go for $2276 on eBay. What a great price. I didn't want to get ahead of my skiis with those headphones, but I must admit I was dreaming about it.

I put my Sony WF-1000XM3 to the test while going for a walk into town. I managed to get a good seal in my left ear using the supplied Large earbuds but I’m not getting a good seal in my right ear and I have to constantly adjust the bud in my right ear to get a good seal which is very annoying. Other than that they are great sounding earphones with potential for excellent sound if only I can get a good seal in my right ear.

Try Spinfit CP360 tips or the Xelastec tips. For me both of these work well with the XM3.

Thanks. I’ll take a look.
I find it strange how my older Sony WF-1000X came with ear wings but the newer WF-1000XM3 don’t.

Thought I'd share a case I got for these, really pleased with it, only 5 odd quid!
