Will let you guys know about the 256GB CF only if I get one and it works.

BTW, this is why I love rockbox and I have changed the cabbiev2 theme to my liking by getting rid of that "now playing" useless big bar and also reducing the height of the progress bar. Also got rid of the backdrop from "while playing" screen. Keeping it simple that's my life.

Hopefully you can work something out, I am in for one. Would like to upgrade my 7th gen iPod to 256 GB flash memory.

I was going to try one when the lady in China quoted me the price of $280, but she retracted and now she wants $480. Not sure if I want that price tho.

BTW guys, if your ipod shows sad face the first thing you should try to replace is the ribbon cable for the drive. I had some problems previously reported here, but after I replaced all the ribbon cables everything is fine. No more sad face and no more skips of tracks while playing.

ok thanks,i'll check em out. also, what's a good solid state solution for the 80gb ipod 5.5? i bought one recently and it should be coming soon. I'm replacing the battery and while i'm at it, might as well do an upgrade as i'm rockboxing too. I'm looking to spend a max of $150 for the whole solid state mod (minimum 64 GB). Can someone point me towards a stable set up? thanks

Well this morning when I saw this 64GB CF was sold for $59 at Amazon, I placed an order right away. Funny thing is right after my order placed, its price went up to $77. What a swing at Amazon.

I own this one, it comes with two back covers that will let you use it with the 30gb, 60gb and 80gb iPod video. This case is excellent.

I ordered this adapter http://www.ebay.com/itm/171004616757?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 and this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B3X73EE/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 240GB SSD, after formatting it to FAT32 I installed it in my iPod. iTunes successfully restored it so I now have a 223GB iPod.
I forgot to mention that it is a 5.5g iPod.

How's it holding up Reima?

Has anyone else had a successful mSATA setup that they wish to share? I'm not looking to rockbox my ipod, I'm pretty sure I'm fine with the stock OS/firmware. I finally capped out my 80gb 5.5g so I'm looking for the best bang for your buck for 200gb+ setups.

Best band for the buck by far is the 240GB Toshiba ZIF HDD... Thats the route I went.

If you want to get the most out of the 5g/5.5g, throw in a CF card there and with the freed space you also throw in some internal caps for diymod. Additional benefits include greatly improved battery life, lightened pod and more durable drive. All these can be done without giving up RB. Now if you want 256GB's, get a pair of 5.5g's and 128GB CF's. That's what I have done and it's great.
