Has anyone added a large capacity battery to a 4th gen iPod?

I recently got hold of a 40gb version with quite a deep rear plate so looks like there should be room for a larger battery. I've already replaced the HDD with a cheapo flash card adapter although I might invest in a Tarkan iFlash equivalent.

they are darn expensive.... and with the Tarkan Quad.... Is there any specialty about it, or just put them in the Tarkan Quad/Dual connect to Computer/Laptop and the cards get formatted correctly.

I would love to have a 2TB iPod, since my Wave music library is getting to be extremely large - my 1TB iPod is not enough storage any longer.

Can any of the micro SDXC cards mentioned on the Tarkan site be used for the 2TB "sweety"?
Because the Lexar High-Performance 633x 512GB microSDXC UHS-1
is on special offer on Amazon.

keep in mind I use the 1T cards with the Tarkan Dual. If you use a Quad, you can go with the four 512Gb. For this I used the Green EVO select

How were you able to finally fold the extenders into the case?
Have you maybe made some pictures of that?

Coming to the different colored Samsung 512GB SDXC cards. I read that the orange/white and the green/white are the same - supposedly.
The only difference is the color and the green/whites are only made for amazon - they cannot be bought anywhere else.

I have installed a 256GB SSD in my 120GB 6th gen Ipod classic. However Ipod motherboard only supports 128GB so trying to override that by installing rockbox. However to install rockbox I need to reformat my ipod that I use on a mac to FAT32. Had I only a pc that would reformat it but I have a mac. Googling give me the info that I can download the partion for the ipod but on rockbox they only have partitions until 4th gen ipod. So if anybody knows how I can reformat my mac formatted ipod classic to FAT32 without using a pc that would be great.

The storage limit on the 6G can easily be overcome by reformatting after an iTunes restore. ITunes limits the 6G to 128GB, but if you then install RockBox, then reformat and recopy the RockBox directories you and exceed the iTunes imposed limit. 7G classics will format all the way up to what ever you’ve installed as memory without the limit, with the caveat of the limit I just observed with the Quad and 4TB.

I’ve built four 2Tb iPods now. Three are built with the Tarkan Quad, and one with a Tarkan dual. I use PNY and Sandisk SD cards. I’ve wanted to try to build a 4T for several years now, it was just too expensive.

Hello I am trying to overcome that 128BG limit on my ipod 6 although I dont have a pc so I am having trouble reformatting my ipod 6th gen to FAT 32. And I cannot find the partition for ipod 6 to download. Any easy way to reformat to FAT32 besides using a pc?

What 1tb ssds are attractive pricewise ? I Got a msata 1tb before it was impossible to find fairly cheap, but i cant find a good deal on a m2 sata 1tb disk.
Otherwise i would definitely be getting a new iflash sata.

It was difficult. Very difficult. And no, i did not take pictures, unfortunately. But i assure you, it can be done - and it is why i switched to using the Tarkan quad and the Samsung micro sd cards. With that configuration I can use the 3000 mah battery.

Thank you so much for reply, I actually installed a trial version on parallels and had it reformatted to FAT 32 easily but new mac os is 64 bit and rockbox for mac is only 32 bit so cannot use it on mac. Am trying to install in unsuccessfully using windows 10 in parallels. Firs I got to the last step push select and menu but it never rebooted when trying to instal the bootloader when trying today it says action required quit itunes although I have already quit itunes and it gets stuck at at 40% of the operation, This was not as easy as I was hoping... Any ideas?

If I use the simulator do I use that instead of rockbox itself or do I need to install rockbox as well?
