If you know anyone who is _really_ good at soldering, you could order a new connector (they are only a couple of $ on ebay) and get them to solder it back on. There are places here that do it, but with postage it costs almost as much as a new logic board. But it is possible, I think, if you are skilled with the soldering iron.

I think I screwed up my girlfriends Ipod... HDD failed so I tried to surprise her for her birthday and ordered Tarkan iFlash Dual and and SD card to fix it. I opened it up and inserted iFlash but when I tried to plug back in the battery cable I noticed that there is something missing... The part where the cable was inserted to fell off and I think the small tiny connectors are broken. Here's a picture - notice the white part (where the cable should be plugged in) next to Ipod and a tiny connector on the left of it. Pretty sure this should be plugged in in the left upper corner of Ipod... Is there anyway to fix or did I just waste 90 € on the most useless gift ever?
And the amp is connected to the iPod via 30 pin to USB Type A dock cable?
So guys I've ran into something disturbing. After connecting and booting my unit, I'm getting a frowny face iPod with a warning sign. What could this possible mean? My guess is it's the board, but I really hope it's something else.
Don't quote me but I believe that's a corrupt "hard drive" At least that's what happened to a friend of mine
check YouTube... There are a bunch of "How To" videos for fixing the frowny face issues
