Not sure what the 1612 or 13 have to do with it, I was just describing the hardware layout of the DX90 in particular.

By the way, has the FA1 firmware been improved enough to warrant a purchase or is it better to get the Zishan DSD if one is looking to get a player utilizing the 4497eq?

Ibasso Dx90 runs with 7 amps along side 2 buffer's and cs4398 chip for coxial output their is no way with everything ibasso dx90 does that it could run single amps through it's relay system a brick is very likely if you plugged/pulled out multiple cables in the headphone jack. Opa1612 is what it uses.

Fa1 uses AD amps which are just ancient these days, now the new firmware update does shine clear sound, but again it's amping on Ad's and if you ever heard AD in 2018 you would know for sure it's outdated. Get the z3 you can filter it's codec!

Interesting, perhaps there is some production variation as the DX90 I have and am familiar with includes: 4x OPA1602 for I/V conversion, 2x OPA1611 for active filtering, 2X OPA1611 for voltage amplification + gain and BUF634s for the buffer. There are no 1612s,13s, or 1692s on board.

Thanks for the advice though, I may just get the Zishan and look into mods.

Interesting design for a little sports player. Nice if the volume wheel would work all the time. Some only when on the now playing screen but not sure if it shares the wheel with navigation or is FF/RW used to navigate items.

hi im getting major distortion when increasing the bass past 66% on my zishan z3.

someone on youtube recommended changing the "op amp".

is there anywhere on the website which shows how to do it?

It's most likely a limitation of your headphones not being able to take eq. Changing opamps are unlikely to help you

i cant change opamp myself anyways.

Try the opa2132 if you want to increase bass on z3, I noticed the same thing, and yes some opamps give stronger bass on the z3, the z3 has a problem with eq but I noticed it didn't distort so bad with opa2132, opa2134, muses8920 stay away from lme6172, distorts hard if you play with eq
