link to firmware please?

Firmware and tool : https://cloud.mail.ru/public/EUd5/vSDVp8dnE

Should you wish to revert to older ones, there's a pack here (including 2018-04-19) : https://yadi.sk/d/nNGNUz9vcwNoOg

The first comes with a PC upgrade tool, the latter with .hex files, my understanding is that one packs both the hex and the firmware files on the root of the SD card and use the inbuilt upgrade menu, which might be safer than the PC tool (which I used without issue, but from a battery powered laptop, a power cut on PC might result into a brick)

I have been using Walnut V2S for several weeks. The volume output is magnificient for its price.
The build quality seems good. I can say that the output is higher than Xduoo X2 and Benjie S5.
I've bought it from CKLewis store in Aliexpress. It was a process without any problem.
Lol. My Benjie S5 is a 100X better than my Walnut V2/V2S/F2.

I'm charging my ZIKU HD X10 daily and I only listen to it for maybe 3-4 hours.

That's a pity, I saw from reviews/impressions that the sound was good, but 4 hour battery life is gonna be a hard pass for me.

I hope they can release a successor that combines the sound of the HDX10 with the 20+ hour battery life of the X9, I'll buy something like that.

20 hour battery life. Wow. That sounds like a Benjie S5. I wish I knew someone with an X9 to compare.

I paid $60 for my X10 so I don't care about the terrible battery life. Great sound or good battery life? Your choice.

Anyone heard things about this one yet?... https://penonaudio.com/jwd-jwm-115.html

JWD JWM-115:

It's a good device, with a solid construction. The screen looks great, with a good size, brightness and colors. The handling is very stable, but not as gestural as one would like. 32 volume steps. Very low output impedance (under 1 Ohm) and a fairly flat response. Not much power, approximately 30mW at 16 Ohms. Comparatively speaking, it is more powerful than the RUIZU A50 or the AGPTEK IMP. Suitable for IEMS and low impedance earbuds. Very good device for use with Bluetooth headphones.

The sound is comparable to the Tempotec Variations V1-A.

My output voltage measurements:

No-Load 0.679V
32 Ohms 0.674V
100 Ohms 0.677V
240 Ohms 0.678V
320 Ohms 0.679V

How is the WiFi feature? Have you downloaded any apps like YouTube? Curious...
About the JWM thing...

I've connected to my Wi-Fi network. I don't think it's possible to install apps. I think Wi-Fi is just for file transfer.

I find the Z3 sounds better with any format, and any earphone > 32 ohms, but it has about 1/5 of the battery life of the X9

... ... wow!now that am burning in/getting used to the m40x with ziku x9 i realise that it is actualy a VERY good dap.this is actualy the best sound i have heard in my life.
on mp3 320.incredibly clear spacious sound, with deep soundstage and a full spectrum of delicious deep bass ,perfect mids and crisp cristal clear highs that are just a litle bit agressive becouse i listen with the rock preset in eq.the agressive highs although are a small prise to pay for such a sound.the treble is so airy and extented i can FEEL the compositions deepest secrets, all the detail is out in the open air!so the ziku can drive full sized headphones after all, just 50 ohms tops or something i supose.
i was disapointed at first becouse it was not a good pair with my hd599 but now with the m40x i can see clearly why many people praise this player,i feel like a very lucky owner of this cs4398 litle beast of a player!
strange how much better it sounds with the rock presset without eq it is too neutral and flat for me
it is either all this or the audio technicas are just amazing hahaha

The Ziku HD X9 is my daily DAP due to the great battery life (> 20 hours) and sturdy build. Can't complain much about the sound for the cheap price, I don't leave home without it nowadays.
I have to say though, I've auditioned other DAPs with better sound quality and better noise to signal ratio, but I opted for the better battery life of the X9 as I don't have readily accessible charging areas as I travel a lot.

I have the M40X and it is very easy to drive, even a low end smartphone can drive it, so maybe it's not a fair gauge of the X9's abilities. I've tried driving higher impedance cans and earbuds thru the X9, honestly X9 may not be the best option for higher impedance stuff. The successor of the X9, the X10, has supposedly an op amp and better sound, though the battery life is like 5 - 6 hours according to some headfiers.
