Regarding the Acmee MF-01 I noticed it can be chardged and used at the same time. I'ts probably just me that for some reason thaught i had to power it off to connect it to the charger...

I also noticed that it now shows up in Windows (7) but it detects as unknown device no matter what mass storage drivers i try... I know it's not supposed to work as a thumb drive/mass storage but you never know. If I set it to USB DAC it shows up as it should but only in 16-bit mode. No 24bit over USB as it seems.

I haven't had time to go through all the pages I missed since I last visited this thread so sorry in advance if this has already been discussed.

Has anyone else seen this JWD-115? I gotta say it looks absurdly good for the price. The body reminds me of the Hiby R6 Pro. It has WiFi, bi-directional Bluetooth etc. I think I'm going to grab one because it seems almost too good to be true.

It's early days, but I am very impressed so far. Beautifully clean and neutral sound, superb levels of detail on my TRN BA5 and Shuoer Tape. Artwork displays very well. Just one negative thing, there doesn't seem to be a quick search function. I have a 256Gb card and it is a drag having to scroll through the folders.

Thanks for that Nimweth, For my music I tend to only use a wired cable to speakers, or into my hifi amp. And use full size headphones. But would also use sennheiser ear buds if required.. Dont really use bluetooth, unless I'm on my tablet. Can you enlighten me about this balanced output . What or why its required. Special cable I see are needed. Any benefit? .... I am happy with how the xduoo X3 performs..could do with more than 8 hours battery . And would like the art work to show. So I need to think about this model. Think they about £160. I bought all my 3 xduoo x3 for £40 each.. New. ...So any info I would be grateful. Cheers martyn

This article explains the difference between balanced and "single ended" or unbalanced operation:

The artwork display on the X20 is excellent, BTW.

Here is a link which explains about balanced audio:

I am finding that using balanced output improves soundstage, imaging and focus.

Received the Ziku HD-X9 a few days ago, and I must say it doesn't live to the hype. For the good part, yes the battery life is excellent, and the navigation is quite fluid using folders, boots up pretty fast too (unlike the zishans that "cache" the SD card on every boot for God knows what reason as there is no indexing? Complete retardation). For the bad part it's big and bulky, and the noise floor is very high, and it really doesn't sound as good as an AK4493 Z3, let alone a 4497 DSD. The wheel SUCKS badly, random, inconsistent clicks, urgh. I think I'm gonna mod the Z3 with a bigger battery because the HD-X9 is really not on par sound quality wise to me, it sounds extremely "soft"

Overall, it feels, and sounds cheap. The zishans feel ghetto, but sound great if not awesome. My choice is made. I'd rather pick my DSD pro and an external battery for a long travel tbh.

Update : updated the HD-X9 firmware (2017-11-07 to 2018-04-19) and the navigation got better. The wheel is much more accurate, not perfect but very much usable. No improvement in SQ alas, that damn background noise is terrible :frowning2: Volume about the same (I heard there's a FW that blows iems up, it's def not that one)

Can't unhear it on quiet albums.

So overall, it's a good player except that background hiss. For someone only listening to modern, high volume mastered stuff this could be perfectly acceptable, but for my 60's jazz it's impossible not to notice.
