I have the ak4490 and the ak4497 both good, I have the f.audio s1 and like it allot, almost bought the xso2 but decided on ak4497 dsd instead

The one selling now on aliexpress is the latest dsd version? like whats the difference between standard 4497 dsd and upgraded 4497 dsd? how does you describe dsd sound signature?
My dm6 is arriving will it be okay with dsd?

Well on its own I would say fairly neutral, well extended highs and a very slight sub bass roll off ( easily fixed with eq ) but barely noticeable, I haven't heard allot of daps out but I can say it's better then fiio x1ii and x3iii (sound better and doesn't crash constantly over and over) I liked it better then a friends ibasso dx50 ( old but still good, little colder then my dsd) to me it seems pretty dynamic and very detailed but I havent listened to it stock in atleast a month, cool thing about dsd are the diy capability, you can change the sound using different op amps and other upgrades

Dragon, Keep in mind the dm6 is a low impedance, 5 BA iem. I was on the same boat trying to decide between the zishans and f.audios. I went with the Opus. Perfect to drive these BAs.

For my best sound, within the range of € 50, is the QNGEE X2.

Dragon, Keep in mind the dm6 is a low impedance, 5 BA iem. I was on the same boat trying to decide between the zishans and f.audios. I went with the Opus. Perfect to drive these BAs.

I am still thinking which to go for, my mind is set for many options and still open for suggestions. From where you bought opus and which one?

Have you considered the new iBasso DX120? Pure music player...no Bluetooth or wifi. 2 card slots Smaller and easier to carry than my Opus #1. A little bigger than the Cayin N3. 3.5mm headphone out, separate 3.5mm line out, and 2.5mm balanced out. I love it.

my bet would be xduoo x20 (rockboxable!) from my actual stock <$200. hidizs ap80 is on transit, and also could be a good bet.

I have the DM6. I have a Shanling M3s, Shanling MO, Hidizs DH1000, Hidizs AP60 Pro, Colorfly C3 and a Zishan DSD 4497. The DM6 sound the best out of the Zishan DSD. If you look at the review of the DM6 by Hawaii Bad Boy, he even uses that to assess the DM6. I didn’t have to say that, but there are differing views on what gear is “right” and “wrong” for BA based IEMs.

Yeah, there are different views about right or wrong of using sources with high impedance like dsd, I am still curious how dm6 sounds good with dsd. can you somewhat describe its sound signature ? its not my list too but i am backing just because of high impedance.
