Only he would know what he meant, it just seemed to me like he was saying the K10E treble was still strong as in good. You could always send him a PM, or ask him to clarify here.

Not necessary, I'll wait for more impressions.

Received my K10s today. A question about fit. Normally when I'm sitting looking ahead and jaw relaxed, there is not much sensation in and around my ears (though i can feel that they are in there still). But if I clench my jaw or open my mouth wide, or turn my head significantly to the left and right, I can feel the earphones more, like parts my ears are pushing into the acrylic (but i still the seal is still fine as they still sound the same). not a big deal since 99% of the time they are comfy, just wondering if this is normal for CIEM fit, as it is my first CIEM experience. thanks!

also coming from universal IEMs, the sensation of having K10 customs in my ear is different (in a way that I can't really describe, but neither is uncomfortable). is this something you need to get used to I guess?

I don't find my K10's particularly comfortable but I have a great seal and no pain. They sound so good that I can put up with a little discomfort. I figure differ people have differing tolerance to CIEM's.

I always have real trouble getting a seal with IEMs which is why I switched to CIEM's.
I briefly had a pair of JH 13's which were more comfortable but I suspect that the seal was not as complete.

IMO (I'm not an audiologist), this is normal, as I believe your ear canal flexes with the movement of your mouth or even the twisting of your head.  And they will feel different from iems with soft tips as the tips flex with your canals, whereas the acrylic will not.  If the seal remains, and they are comfortable with your face relaxed, it seems to me that you have a good fit.

Normal

Take your CIEMs out, stuff your pink in your ears as deep as you can, and move your jaw, open, smile, turn your neck....   you will feel movement.

Chodi has both the K10 and the Encore.   He has had the Encore for a couple of months, so his thoughts are based upon a familiarity of both products.

I have both the K10U and the new Kaiser Encore universal. Many have asked for this difference so here I post my impressions. I must say that the K10U is a masterpiece in itself and it has maintained a level of performance which has been reviewed over and over as one of the best (if not the best) overall iem's. John has worked to perfect what is already a world standard for perfection. The K10E is more of an evolution of the K10U than a completely new product. There are differences that will be obvious but I do want to emphasize that the two products are related in sonic performance however the K10E (Kaiser Encore) has two qualities that will be immediately evident. On the K10E the midrange has been improved clarity and tonal balance to blend seamlessly with the bass and treble in a more refined way than the K10U. This allows for an added tonal honestly in the midrange that to my ears is a breakthrough in overall performance for an iem. The sonic character of the original K10U is maintained but the midrange has added clarity and presence. The fantastic quality of the K10 bass is still present but it now blends more seamlessly with the mids creating a harmonic integrity that is a  perceptible level above the original K10.

The second obvious difference with the K10U and the Encore is the sound stage. While the K10 was certainly one of the best at producing the impression of a real sound stage the K10 Kaiser Encore takes that to a new level. The out of head experience is unmatched in any iem that I have owned or heard. We have all heard and read about the difficulty in producing a sound stage that is believable with an in ear monitor so I won't go into the limitations. The difference in the ability to produce a believable sound stage for any iem is a real challenge compared to traditional full size headphones. There are anatomical reasons why it is such a challenge to produce a coherent out of head experience with any in ear monitor. Clever designers have managed to accomplish this to varying degree. The Kaiser Encore in my opinion sets a new standard in this department. The out of head sound stage image is breathtaking. There is no other way to describe it. The K10U was excellent in this regard by comparison to existing iem standards. The Kaiser Encore create it's own standard on a new level. If you are like me and consider sound stage presentation important than the Kaiser Encore is your iem.

Will the new K10E retire my K10U the answer is that in most cases yes it will. If you own the K10U you can take heart that you own one of the best iem's ever produced. The K10E is an incremental improvement on an already outstanding product.

Ladies and gents, it appears nobody correctly guessed the mileage of Wizard's M3.

As a result, we have decided to do another giveaway, this time for the very first set of Sage, a forthcoming product from us at Noble, in Wizard format dressed in heirloom grade Amboyna Burl.

This time the contest will be easier, with participants only having to guess four digits on Wizard's AMG Mercedes.

All other rules will remain the same.

Hey John. How is the new Mercedes running and are you happy with the car?

The CLK 55 AMG was historically built/designed to compete against the M3, which if that was really the goal of Mercedes, they failed.   (That being said it would have been more of a E46 M3 vs a CLK 55 AMG for that time period)   Any how, as an E36 M3, vs a CLK (W209) 55 AMG comparison.

The E36 is more of a balanced car, 33.3% handeling, 33% brakes, 33% power.   The CLK more like 60% power, 20% brakes, 20% handeling.

That being said, the ride/suspension of the CLK is so plush compared to the M3, due to my age....   I hesitate to say, but the CLK....  bumps out the M3.   I drove a 6 hr round trip in the mountain twisties, in the M on Sunday, and I felt like I just got out of the spin cycle on the washer machine.   The CLK doesn't beat on u hard at all.   (BTW the M3 has Bilstien 8 for shocks with M3 springs)   I drove 10 hrs in the CLK on Friday, got out of the car feeling fine.  It really does provide a smooth ride. (the engine delivers power like a beast)

I like both cars, it is too early to say which one I would sell first, and my wife says, I'm not selling either one.  (I got lucky, she loves audio gear and cars)

Is it just me, or does John put a lot of miles on in a year, if its been just a year since the last contest.

I'm not sure if I drive more than most, but I do drive to Bangkok and back (18 - 20 hrs round trip) fairly often.

I think I do a pretty damn good job answering questions that Noble doesn't then have to come answer.

you have always helped me out when I had questions Wata! Now if you can just get me my k10'son faster that would be great! Lol

If they don't come soon enough you can blame Wata for the delay!
