I only own Ragnar.........and so I wanted to know if this comparison between Ronin and Ragnar is reliable. Thank you
Yes - except for this point: "And although both IEMs have significant sub-bass presence, the Ronin hits harder and with more substance." Ronin has very little sub-bass unfortunately and certainly less than Viking Ragnar.

And this: „the Viking Ragnar reveals less separation in singular instruments, especially in the low mids.“ Never, it’s exactly the opposite! Viking Ragnar is best in class here, maybe even better than Traillii?

Moreover, the soundstage of Ronin - with the right cable - is really very good: quite holographic, wide, deep, high...

The problem is Ronin's stock cable vs Viking Ragnar's Magnus 4w.

Sorry Noble but for me a high-end IEM certainly deserves an appropriate cable (see Viking Ragnar) and not something like this comparatively poor-sounding. Hey, but it looks good!

I'd say it's spot on, but: Ragnar is the clear, razor sharp black & white pencil drawing that can't be faulted in what it's trying to do. Ronin on the other hand fills in the white spaces in that drawing, giving it more life and texture, even if it slightly blurs that black pencil line.

RE @phiemon's sub bass remark I would say on average Ragnar's bass has more precision and timbre while I personally like Ronin's bass all the same. But yeah, dynamic bass is hard to beat to be honest unless you only need speed.

Very nice and accurate explanation, really!

I own the Ragnar and heard the Ronin on a demo session. So the comparison is to be taken with a grain of salt.

Overall I agree with what is written there. Generally the Ronin sounds thicker than the Ragnar. The Ragnar has also more treble energy and in my oppinion considerable more resolution. The Ronin is more neutral while the Ragnar is more colored but still balanced out very well. The biggest difference for me was the bass. The ragnar has DD drivers for the bass which you can clearly hear. In my oppinion the Ronin does not produce the texture and detail in the bass department as the Ragnar. The bass is also much better separated from the mids on the Ragnar.
