Apparently it was common, if not required, for a Samurai to carry two swords, one being the Katana and the other the Kodachi.
Hello gentlemen. I saw someone selling a pair of Limited Black color faceplate and silver body Encore. I guess this was a special order like he mentioned? Is.warranty transferable?

it is rare, maybe 5 built in that color scheme.

Thanks, we had "Kodachi" on the drawing board for a good while now. Looking forward to the release. It is a cousin to the Katana (hence the name).

The kodachi is a cousin to the katana.
The kodachi is a shorter length katana, therefore the kodachi (iem) has a lower driver count (5) than its bigger cousin the katana (9 drivers)
The Kodachi price point is lower than the Katana as well.
The long answer is, the Kodachi was not built with the design goal to supersede the Katana or the Encore.
It could be said, the kodachi is a co-flagship of a co-flagship.
