Nexus 5x and 6p sound quality

That's great news re: USB-C and not needing any OTG compatibility. Sorry if I was mistaken a few posts ago.

On another note, I did the "mixer_paths" on my 6P this morning and it boosted the headphone volume significantly. It took all of five minutes and while I've probably blown the chance to receive an OTA update when it comes out, I'm loving the headphone output now. Not the best I've ever heard SQ-wise, but I have no complaints for a portable solution now. The phone has much more power. I don't know why they make them so quiet out of the box. Anyone else done this "mod?"

Yeah, those are like the Belkin one I tested, 1m length not the most practical for connecting DACs though!

I believe adapter like that should work, I would try the Techmatte one though as that is Benson Leung approved.

it Sounds great, if it works, then we don't need to use that 6ft cable.

I worry a little that they will stress the port a bit, would really like a right-angled one, but at the moment beggars can't be choosers I guess. As the year wears on and everyone moves to USB C we should start to see short cables suitable for USB DAC pairing uses.

Just got a 25cm (9.8 inches) USB-C to mini b cable from a company called Deltaco. Works like a charm, had no problems with connection.

They also have USB-C to micro b in the same length. Could be an option for those of you who are looking for a shorter cable

Just got these Techmatte UBC-C to USB micro adapters http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0151RKYBG
Tested on my Nexus 6P and Oppo HA-2 and it was no-go.  Tested with both a USB micro male to USB micro male cable that came with HA-2, as well a standard USB micro to USB cable.  Changed the USB option to MIDI but audio was still coming out of the speakers.
Not sure if I missed something or the adapters just didn't work.  Any idea?
TIA
