Is anyone else having this problem? Everytime I start up my SP1000SS I get the message "Process system isn't responding. Do you want to close it?"

I believe it’s a memory card problem. I formatted mine and it was gone.

Same here, got the same message with a SE100, formatted and everything went back to normal. Btw, you can continue to use the se card like that, the message comes out only when you turn on the player.

But the problem is...my friend got a brand new one from an AK dealer few weeks ago, and found it has a "bad contact" issue of the 2.5mm jack...therefore he sent it to the ECT (AK distributor in HK) for repairing (or a replacement) . Few days ago, a ECT technician just replied no replacement will be available and similar cases has been reported by more than one customers, he also claimed they are likely caused by an issue during the CNC process ). At this stage, all they can do is to apply a black tape on top of the edge of the 2.5mm jack to avoid the headphone plug from contacting the metal enclosure which causing sound distortion ....obviously this is not a permanent fix and is not acceptable...

If ECT told your friend that, it is unacceptable. If there is an issue, they should repair or replace it under warranty and not be “applying black tape” to it. Is your friend on Head-Fi? If so, can you please have him/her PM me?

JH Audio used to (still does?) send out little stickies with a hole in the center to place over the 240SS 2.5 port (got some with my long gone Angie). At least it wasn't black tape.

No, Apple Music is not supported. It requires a valid Google Play Store install for authentication and AK players do not have Google Play Store installed.

AK SP1000 driving a STAX SR009 thanks to Kingsound M-03 Portable Amp. Very very good sound. Even Jude was surprised by the result !



I shortened the looooong cable to make the SR009 more portable...

@Daibaron actually had a meeting last week regarding playlists since the Open App update. Our engineer and software teams are looking into improving external playlist support in all Open App enabled players.

It is true that this amp lacks a resistor, and without this it can fry your Stax??

Not desirable for me; I don't need a desktop size unit from AK. The SP1K is almost perfect for me.
