I assume you were not charging it while playing?

The usb was in the pc, because I also moved some songs, but the SP1000 was already at 100%. So I think it was still charging though the battery was at 100%.

For now the only way is via the headphone jacks - either SE or Balanced. You put the SP1000 in line out mode and it will max the headphone output to 2V. If you manage to get a 2.5mm TRRS to dual XLR adapter, you will also need to wire the GND from the 3.5mm jack to the GND of the XLR pins. AK use to sell a nice compact adapter for this, but not anymore. SE line out is just a simple 3.5mm stereo to dual RCA adapter.

Otherwise, hope that AK comes out with a dock soon. You will notice that the docking pins at the bottom have 5 pins - 4 signal and 1 GND. This was a change to the original AK380 docking pins which only had 4 pins.

Not sure if it was trickle charging at that point, but also consider there could be an issue with usb cable.

I didn't like the AK adapter because the wires go out from the back of the adapter, making the DAP not lie flat on a table. You can indeed simply wire the ground to the 3.5mm jack. My understanding is that in this mode the TRRS is LLRR, and the TRS runs two grounds. Be sure you know the correct wiring as running ground through the 2.5mm jack while both jacks are plugged in may damage the device.

Anyone aware of any current good deal on the sp1000. The classifieds and ebay is bit dry. Either folks are keeping their's or not many people buy these. I would like to compare with my 1Z. Somehow not happy with the performance of DSD files on the 1Z.
