New TOL A&K DAP : the AK Ultima SP1000

Can you describe the sonic differences between the AK CD ripper and a regular computer ripper?
Why do you recommend using an external power bank (as opposed to plugging it to a computer or wall outlet)?

Send me a pm if you´re interested. Don´t want to bore others because most here don´t want to know about it anyway.

To be honest I am not sure it will even reach market.... like many other anouncements in the past thar never made it to production. It is so easy to make some buzz by printing 512 Gb on a black microSd !

Well,
the 400gb is out, the next obvious step is 512.
In the past the 200gb came first and few months later the 256 appeared on the market.
The brand announcing it is not one of the obscure brands that you can find on Ebay and/or Taobao.
I'm very curious about the price point.

I have a question about the new A&K CD RIpper :

Today I use dbPoweramp to RIP my CDs to my Macs HD. I wonder if it possible, with the appropriate cable, to use instead the new A&K ripper to RIP CD to my MAC instead of directly to the A&K player ?

Indeed, all my RIPs go to my HD or my NAS before I select which one I will store on the limited memory of my A&K player.

thanks in advance for your help

Yes,
with my previous MacBook Air I was able to rip cds from the cd ripper directly to the Mac (I use XLD).
you still have to connect the cd ripper to a power source and then connect to the Mac using the 2nd micros port.

Hi. I'm enjoying my SP1000cu. It's a thing of beauty!

However, I'm struggling to get it to fast charge. I have QC3.0 based chargers and a Google Chromebook Pixel charger. These will all fast charge my Google Chromebook, Pixel phone etc but won't fast charge my SP1000. Does the SP1000 need to be off to fast charge?

congratulation, the player is amazing!

I've been using while charging it, I've been using this one, and it works perfectly.

Diamond pattern 3M protection wrap for the SP1000. It just looks so damn cool.

I only fast charge when it is off, but that doesn't mean it HAS to be off. Check the manual for that (it's in the Internal HD folder). I use the Aukey charger (Quick Charge 3.0 AUKEY USB Wall Charger for Samsung Galaxy S8/S7/S6/Edge, LG G5 | Qualcomm Certified) I got on Amazon. Are you using the AK cable that came with the device?

I'm using a regular Galaxy S7 charger, which works nicely for fast charging regardless the power is on or off.

I recently purchased a music track (352.8kHz/24bit/FLAC) from HDTrack. On my SP1000Cu, it plays the track at 2x speed with periodic popping noise. I have some similar DXD FLAC files at 352.8kHz sampling that SP1000Cu has no problem playing.
The music track can be played without problem by Hugo 2 and ACRO L1000, which means the file itself is ok.
@JasonNYC, any suggestion on this problem? Is there any known issue with the current firmware?
