Ragnarok hasn't arrive yet but I'm listening to my speakers in this setup, which sounds absolutely stunning. Yggdrasil really lift the game. My speakers sound so clear and vibrant now. Really loving it. I've been listening to headphones for a long time but this could change my listening habits.

Onkyo DVD player > Yggdrasil > Feliks Audio Euforia (as tube preamp) > Sherwood Receiver > Axis LS28 stand mounted speakers and Definitive Technology 12" subwoofer.

Finally I have the Yggdrasil and Ragnarok together. It is a stellar combo. The sound is articulate, revealing and transparent. At the same time, it's soothing and natural. How it accomplish this is beyond me. With HD800, there's no fatigue but just sounds musical. Amazing tone.

Wait till you hear it balanced.

I heard it balanced at the store with HD800 and LCD2.2. My balanced cables for HD800 and ZMF Eikon from Forza Audioworks are on the way to me.

HD800 sounds really good with this combination. No stridency at all. Jason use the HD800 to tune the Ragnarok. :)

This is how I heard it in balanced mode with a Cardas cable... on both HD800 and LCD2.2.

Think your yggy/rag combo deserves a nice pair of standmounters too. I believe they are on par with speaker set-ups many times more expensive.

I think so too. First I will hooked it up to my Axis LS28.... an Australian version of the LS3/5A... and a pair of Definitive Technology 12" sub. I want to hear how that sounds.

The reality is the KEF LS50 packs a punch and you dont even need additional sub. The KEF sounds so clear, vivid and punchy with Yggy and Rggy.

I bought Ragnarok for headphones listening but it looks like I will be enticed onto speakers. :)

That's the beauty of the rag isn't it. End game amp for head fi, and for those with shallower pockets, even hi fi. The KEF's are great. My choice would be a nice pair of Harbeths. Divine!
