Hi I'm Nick, and I'm new to this hobby, I hope to learn a lot here!
Right there with you, Nick. Not new to audio, but a noob to headphones and the audiophile world (other than about 12 hours of recent YouTube watching and forum searching). Looking forward to learning as well.

Hello fellow Head-fiers
I am new here too.
I am a noob to the hobby (~6 months-but starting to get serious)

I started with a Sony WH1000-xm4 for work and watching Joshua Velour intro to audiophiles vids
Have appreciated the fine and detailed gear reviews here, and on Headphones.com as well as some by DNS Zeos Pantera, Chuckolatte and a few others on YouTube.

my current set up
IFi Zen DAC v2 to Zen Can with either balanced 4.4s between or a Douk Audio P2 tube amp sandwiched between (with 3 tone controls- enjoy that combo a lot). Home cans are 6XXs

recently added Sonore microRendu with LPS 1.2 to stream to the above set up, planning on setting up a Roon core using a Max Mini 2014 but still getting my music files organized for that as they were a bit spread out across machines (and CDs and vinyl). Home network is Google Fiber 1GB Wifi with 3 endpoints we can hardwire, 1 directly wired to the router.

work set up is an IFi micro iDSD Signature (used as Desktop) paired with HIFIMAN Arya
iems are Akko OH10 and Final A4000s and Apple earbuds for working out - had to mention the last pair as they were here before all the rest and they are still here (;-)

travel dac/amp is a Hidizs DH80s to use with iPhone though I am on tbe road now and listening to the Sony’s as they pack up nicely in an after- market hardback zip-case

current problems
1) getting TIDAL to stream MQA from iOs via my iPhone 12 Pro Max to any of my DACS
2) figuring out audacity for ripping music from Vinyl -online instructions are mostly 10 years old

looking to add a Hiby R8 DAP to spice things up in the current DAC/Amp set ups including BT to the XM4s and direct connect to the rest of the gear to stream LDAC other hi-res which is currently not possible in my setup

Hello All,

Long time lurker on this forum, but I have been on the Headphones.com community forum under the same username for some time. Happy to finally engage with this forum as well. Currently running a Cayin IHA-6 as my main amplifier fed by a Bifrost 2. I have quite a few sets of headphones in my collection right now, but have been enjoying my ZMF Verite and Verite closed the most.

Looking forward to continue learning and listening!

OK Got It, one month user and 15posts.
Roger, and when you reply to a comment (mine, in this case) that comment will appear before your reply. Gives context to your reply. Just hit Reply in the comment you're replying to (vs making a new post). Yes, calling a new post "Post Reply" doesn't help, especially when you're just trying to just respond to a specific post. Welcome! :)

Hello,
Just joined the forum. I'm looking forward to sharing some of my stories and experience with you, but also looking forward to learning new things too. There is still things I don't know about Planar Magnetic headphones, my experience with Planar's is limited to just 3 headphones; Fostex TH500RP, T50RP and T40RP. And I only have 1 amp at the moment, lol: A Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2i2 (second gen). Looking forward to taking part in discussions here at Head Fi.

regards,
Steven.

Hi guys ... hope all of you are doing well during this pandemic.

I think I am at a break through point in my musical journey as a so called audiophile where my vocabulary has greatly improved in explaining sound. And with new found information, I am here to upgrade my equipment so as to experience audio nirvana. So far I have owned Boss, Beats, JBL and Sony headsets. And maximum I have spent is around $150. I also listen to a cambridge audio, nad and acoustic energy towers. I felt that I could get better bang for the buck as well as explore and experiment with headsets to understand quality music before making a big investment in my separates. So I am here.

I have been reading many threads in the last few days and its been quite enlightening. Thanks for all the members who are knowledgable and supportive to each other.

Hari here from Dubai.
