Hello people, have been a member here since 2012 when I initially dipped my toes into audio. Then after some years lost interest and moved on to other things. Now I'm getting back into it and I feel like we're truly spoiled by many great audio options to choose from. We've come a long way and the performance/price market has never been this good before. Perfect time to rejoin the audio world! See you guys around

Hello!
Joined cuz I felt like joining! Not really familiar with the forum experience and I was thinking this would be a great way to start

Here's a quick "headphone journey" that I went through for my audiophile life
old apple in ears- I definitely think these are my first entryway into "audiophile" just because they kept breaking and kept pushing me towards wanting more xD
KZ ZS7 - I don't know how I ended up with these after researching the tin t2's but I ended up with these somehow and I still hadn't appreciated hi-fi, but I definitely fell in love with the removable cable! Here's where I really started to think about how things sounded and so I jumped to the

Bose QC15 and Beats something or other- these are my first over ears, both were hand me downs. Started with the QC15 and really really like the ANC, but hated how they drained triple A batteries. Sound quality was really nice for a teenager and really sent me off into just listening to music to listen to music and not as a background activity. Beats were also a hand me down and I don't have much to say on these because I didn't really use them all that much, but great for not wanting to break my Bose.

Here we go! with the Sennheiser HD559- Spring break of 2019 I had some cash lying around. My beats were beaten up, My bose lost it's cable. I wanted more. I wanted open back. My eyes were opened to open back headphones and here is truly where my journey begins. Loved the soundstage, well, learned what soundstage really was- but I wanted more. so I grabbed

Sennheiser HD598SE used- this is where I got my first headphones to make me smile. Bubbles by Yosi. So good, so cool! The itch didn't stop there, I was craving clarity, I was craving the best for the value. I still don't know what unveiled highs are, but I'm loving the

Sennheiser HD6XX + Fiio e10k - This is what I would call it quits for now. I still need to learn how to appreciate these more. I don't currently have time to tear these guys apart, but I figure joining a forum will help.

Thanks for reading!

Hello everyone!

I'm a musician at heart if not by profession. My singing is not atrocious for a bass guitar player, so I try to stick to that mostly (bass). Grew up loving, listening and playing hip hop and punk. Probably not your most common audiophile genres. But I go through different phases, like when I only listened to jazz for 7 years. I guess I just love good music, whatever that is to you!

Anyway I've been into home theater since 1999, cuz I love the cinema too. Due to space constraints my theater setup is also how I listen to music. Since I can't dedicate a room to a 2 channel setup, I'd like to try a nice headphone setup, which brings to this corner of the webs.

TLDR: Really excited to meet you and to learn and try new gear. Hopefully it doesn't hurt the wallet too bad!

Hello! I am a young headphone enthusiast and have owned 6 pairs, the best being the Audio Technica M50x (I'm short on money, so please spare me. A student's allowance is low...). I wanted to seriously get into the budget audiophile world and thought that the first logical step would be to join this forum! Looking forward to having a great experience with you all!

Hello HeadFi.

It all started with the COVID quarantine. My office told everyone we were working from home until further notice. I like to listen to music while I work, but this was causing some domestic friction with Sra.Dinero who prefers the quiet.

I had some old Bose noise-cancellers which *seemed* fine. But then the left earpiece fried after a couple weeks at home. I needed some new headphones STAT.

I got some recommendations from folks on a music forum that I follow, and I started doing some of my own research and came across Head-Fi and some other sites with good information and reviews.

That was a couple months ago. Now I can't stop buying new headphones. I got some Ultrasone HiFi 450s, and quickly upgraded to Hi F 780s and then Pro 900s. I had never heard of open-back headphones before, so I started with some Beyer Dt 990 Pros to get my feet wet there. I kept reading about Grado, and their website made me want to sing "Proud To Be An American" so I scored some 325s on Ebay and quickly moved on to some well-used GS1000s. I've come to the conclusion that I really like big, roomy earcups. I've got my eye on some LCD-2s if the price is right.

Musically, I listen to a little bit of everything but a lot of jazz, classic rock, and jam bands. Jazz while I'm working, rock when I'm partying.

Hello everyone. New to head-fi. I grew up listening to music on sony 7506 and v6 because that is what my dad owned. I remember my first pair of open cans when I was around 14. I bought some sony mdr-f1 on eBay for a couple hundred bucks (2001 or so) and loved the comfort and sound.

Hello everyone! I have been in the hifi community for about 8 years now, but just realized I never made a head-fi account. I mainly enjoy IEMs, but I do enjoy certain headphones quite a bit as well. A few favorite IEMs that I have heard is the Campfire Andromeda, Campfire Vega, Sony IER-Z1R. Favorite headphones I have listened to is the Meze Empyrean, Stax L700, ZMF headphone I forgot the name of, MrSpeakers/Dan Clark Audio Aeon Flow

Hello and thank you for including me in this vibrant community. I am a 2-channel guy and have not before had any "serious" headphones. I have in the past been really impressed with the sound quality of headphones, even though they were not any brand/model worth writing home about. I believe that headphones can achieve something special without trying too hard and I am curious about what is possible with better hardware.

I just purchased the Drop HD-6xx and must say that my initial impressions is that they are ... fine. Just that, there is some detail but nothing exciting. If I unplug them, the 2 speakers in my office sound far better as far as the fun factor: rhythm and musicality, bass and responsiveness, and just something I want to hear. I added an extension cable that I bought cheap on Amazon. It takes the 3.5mm plug from the headphones, adds 6 feet of cord, and terminates with a 1/4-inch plug. Last night I removed the extension cable; I think the sound improved quite a bit and will listen some more soon, but the 6-foot cord on the headphones without the extension cable leaves me with no good spot for much listening. So if the cable is crud, then it can go.

I plug them into the 1/4-inch headphone jack on a Creek Evo 100A amp. I have really enjoyed the amp with speakers. I read good reviews about the integrated headphone amp within the Creek, so I wonder if it is all that good, am I missing something with this amp, is it the cheap cable extension, am I expecting too much from the HD-6xx. As this is a fun hobby, I look forward to reading any opinions that you all may be able to chime in with. :)

Hello guys, I have just got ksc75 and I was impressed with the sound quality. So I want to move a step up my eyes was on Akg k702 especially their price now in uk usually under 150 $. And It was 350$ MSRP.But the problem I can't get a decent amp with it my budget will be 60$ for amp +150 for K702 but I'm afraid that it may sound bad with cheap amp. So should I go this way or better to get easier to drive headphone like X2Hr or ATH-900ADX or sennheiser hd599
With my Mb Asus b450 with supreme fx 1220 audio the Dac is clean with Ksc75 but the amp not so powerful it uses half power with Ksc75
