Greetings from home in León, a small city in Spain, my name is David. First of all ... THANKS FOR WELCOMING ME IN THE FORUM !!!
I have been reading it for years, not only because I love the subject of sound but also because what I like the most (I think everyone is the same here) is enjoying music, something that I forget on many occasions...

I have not stopped learning (and sometimes, many, have healthy envy of your teams ...) during all this time, both at the team and music level (I will modestly try to contribute some musical contribution and ask for your modest opinion because like being able to try and have been able to experience ... there is nothing. As for musical tastes ... it is that they are so broad, I listen from classical (I love it) to some metal, including jazz, flamenco, pop, instrumental, BSO ... a little of everything, except reggaeton and the like haha (I doubt even how it is written !!!).

Finally, and in a brief way, simply comment that my current equipment (modest, what I have been buying little by little and with effort) is (I put the important thing, the other is the typical habitual junk). I think that this way I can help to make a better photo of what I have and get to know the people on the forum better, more or less, with what you have in the signature (I update it and put it) I am clear, and with your comments, what you have. In short, headphones (I wear glasses, but also contact lenses) have always been very unbearable in the medium term, because my ears start to burn and turn red, it is something that has always happened since I was a child, until when my mother had gifted the tape Walkman with headphones that pinched your hair (what times haha):

• Fiio M11: I was hesitant to buy it, but I'm really enjoying it. I hate having "two pots", and with a Dongle and Smartphone, when I was not on the PC, I was delighted, but in the end I ended up destroying the mobile (battery), or distracting myself with the WhatsApp (for example), instead to enjoy
• Fiio K5: desktop, with PC, connected to a pair of JBL monitors, they are modest but they were recommended to me by a friend who is at an engineering level, makes small sound studies etc., cheap but incredibly good, from the professional line of JBL
• IMR R1 Zenith: I like them a lot, although sometimes the voices sound artificial and the bass ends up overwhelming me, I prefer a neutral sound
• Sony MH755 with MMCX Cable Mod: For its price, simply amazing. Neutrals and a wonder
• Headphones: HD 660S, Momentum 2, Grade SR80: really the one I like the most, is the HD 660S, by far
• Cambridge Audio Melomenia TWS: Really, they were an incredible surprise, I bought them that summer, traveling from UK, they are comfortable and they sound incredibly good

Otherwise I have some other usual gadget iem (Soundmagic, Superlux ...) and several Dongles (the Ztella Zoorlo MQA is just amazing) and an ES100.

Now I am waiting to receive a new pair of (second hand) CA Andromedas.

Hi everyone. I'm from Norway. I've been lurking here on and off for at least 10 years, since I started looking into portable headphones and entry-level IEMs for travel use, and found that the reviews from "tech" publications were far less reliable than user consensus on a big forum like headfi. More recently I've finally graduated from school and gotten a much more comfortable budget for audio products, so I've tried out quite a few audio products recently. At the moment I'm enjoying the AKG K371 for use at work, it's got by far the best neutrality I've ever heard and is just all around delightful, and the Sendy Aiva is proving quite interesting for home-use with the Topping DX3 dac/amp; I don't enjoy its tonality as much but the planar extension is very cool. My old Philips Fidelio X2 is collecting dust as I don't find any of it's qualities superior to the other headphones, except perhaps comfort. For portable use I have the Sennheiser Momentum 2s, which I find to be quite mediocre and horribly uncomfortable for extended use, but I'm a sucker for sexy headphones and I just love the look of these in ivory.

This is mostly a headphone forum as I understand it, but I also very much enjoy my Vanatoo T0 desktop speakers - they're really quite a step above any normal "consumer" speakers I've ever heard, and if I one day own a house I'd be very interested in checking out some serious "Audiophile" speakers, because I find the Vanatoo T0s really complement rather than compete with my modest headphone collection - there are times I really enjoy that intimate headphone experience, and other times when the speaker presentation is more tempting.

I'm also active at reddit.com with the same username, and have been for many years. However, while r/headphones and r/audiophile (and not to forget r/headphoneporn...) are amongst my most visited subreddits, I'm not a very active poster as I feel like rather a novice with limited expertise and experience when giving audio opinions. I fear that may become the case here as well, but it's at least nice to have the option of joining the discussions that interest me.

At the moment my next goals are to get a CIEM for portable use; unfortunately my experiences with IEMs are that my ear canals are too small and/or sensitive to get a good comfort experience, but I'm still intrigued by the quickly growing IEM market. I'm also trying (and seemingly failing...) to convince myself not to try some of the expensive, sexy kilobuck headphones that haunt my dreams, and trying to be happy with products in a more sane price bracket.

Hello together, new Head-Fier from Germany (near Stuttgart) here
Been using studio headphones like the DT-990 Pro for a few years when playing guitar or listening to music. For on the go I am using Sonys NC options (WF-1000XM3, WH-1000XM2) and am quite happy with them.
I want to find better options for use at home and pleasant music listening sessions. Currently testing/have tested for example Audeze Mobius, Austrian Audio Hi-X55, Focal Elegia, Hifiman Drop HE-4XX, Philips Fidelo X2...I hope I can soon narrow it down to one open/one closed headphone for use at home.

Hi friend! You and I sound very similar--even in our decisions regarding gear.

I was looking at the Ztella and considering it as an addition to my Fiio M11 to unwrap MQA from Tidal played through my IMR R1 Zeniths.
Have you tried this, and, if so, how did it sound? Curious!

Hello everyone, new to this site but not new to hifi. I've been an avid music listener for as long as I can remember, and my first foray into stereo equipment began about forty years ago with an NAD 3020 amp and a Nakamichi 500 tape deck, with Mirage bookshelf speakers. I taped all my college friends' records and bought my own records too, even though I didn't (until a bit later) have a turntable. In those days I didn't use headphones, cause I wanted to crank the music so loud that I could feel it vibrate through my body.

In the last twenty years I've begun to enjoy headphones. I still listen to the most eclectic range of music of anyone I know (classical, jazz, rock, folk, punk, metal, country, hiphop, and everything in between), but I no longer feel the need to broadcast my tunes to the world, at least not all the time. I listen to music while sitting, while working, while exercising. The nicest headphones I've had are the Grado SR80 and the Sennheiser Momentum 2, though my son has pretty much taken over my Grados. I'm also beginning to try out Bluetooth headphones. They are so convenient with an iPhone, though I'm concerned that BT may compromise the audio quality too much. So some days I chain my M2 to my iPhone via a Dragonfly Red, and others I just use BT--most recently a Sony WF-1000XM3.

I'm looking forward to learning more, listening more, and perhaps acquiring additional headphone options. I'd like to try some more advanced Grado cans, and maybe some planar magnetics? I've never used a headphone amp, and would be interested to see what that would be like. Open to all kinds of sounds, but I expect I will remain quite cost-conscious, so no chance I'll be dropping $1000 or more on this hobby anytime soon! Cheers

Hi, new member here, making mandatory first post.

My headphone journey started with Etyomtic Research ER23 IEMs. Fantastic product, but the way you need to push them directly into your brain is uncomfortable. That moved me to Audio-Technica ATH-M40x monitors (added a Fulla 2), then to Beyerdynamic DT 770 250 ohm, then to Sennheiser 6xx (with a Darkvoice 336se), then to a BD DT 177x for my work desk.

I'm here to utilize the resale forum, looking to buy some Audeze LCD-2Cs. I usually frequent the Reddit r/AVexchange forum, but that seems to have dried up a bit. Ebay is full of new and overpriced gear, and Craigslist is a wasteland.

I've found that I'm not a fan of darker, laid-back sound. I like more lively, brighter, more detailed sound. I'd rather have a crashing cymbal and differentiated strings than rich vocals. I'd rather have separated bass sounds than booming. I don't think I care to meticulously maintain a Stax electrostat, so I'm eager to try a planar magnetic.

If you have a suggestion that I'm going in the wrong direction, I'd welcome feedback. Thanks for having me here.

A little late but just wanted to say hello to everyone here. Fell into this hobby a little less than a year ago and if you look at my signature you can tell it's been a hard fall indeed. You'll find that I've been commenting quite a bit on the LCD X lately as that and the XC are my newest acquisitions and I'm absolutely smitten with them both. I also joined up here to use the site as another research resource along with utilizing the marketplace as I'm not against buying used especially since I see my logical next step to be for flagships. My current interest going forward are the Verites & Empyreans.
