Thanks for the heads up about the Vmoda bass. My main issue with the Bose is the gym. I guess the Vmoda should be more sturdy... But i have to hear the difference to finally decide. What about the Spotify/codex issue, can you confirm it ?
Sorry I'm a little old school I don't stream =( and I never owned the vmodas just spent a little time with them.

Welcome to head-fi fellow BC audiophile! Sorry for your wallet

Ha, Thanks! I also decided to order a new amp/dac (Matrix M-Stage HPA-3U). I now refuse to check my bank statement.

yeah, cool to see another member from bc on these boards.
used to own the hd 6xx and q701 as well, those are pretty good headphones. hope you enjoy them @ doomshark

I do very much so! They sound very different, and both are very pleasant to me.

Hello, guys!
I'm new in audiophile world, for the start I made several nice deals on ebay. And I have next combination on this moment:

DAP - no players, only old phone and laptop with analogue music card,
DAC - dragonfly black,
headphones - 598cs (23ohms), dt770 (80ohms) , dt880 pro (250ohms), akg k7xx (62ohms).

Now I want to decide with base set. I'm thinking of selling dragonfly & one of headphones for buying DAP Acoustic Research AR-M20 with PCM5242 on Massprop ($200 now) or LG v20 for the same price.
Which combination will bring me best mobile sound quality? Maybe there is a more effective combination?

Thanks for any advice :)

I went to lisetn the Meze 99 Classics again. Overall great sounding headphones but prefer other sound signature (less warm) and less bulky.
I settled the options to the Denon MM400 and B&O H6. Looks like the MM400 is more warmer the H6 and I think to purchase the H6.
Any last thoughts?

thanks!

Hello!

Newb here, and new-ish to HP in general.

I have 2 rigs, with another on the way.

Rig 1 (work, where I do most of my listening. I know, I'm weird):
Gungnir MB > Mjolnir 2 > Aeon Flow Closed

Rig 2 (home):
Lyr 3 > Audio-Technica ATH-W5000

Just ordered myself a OTL rig, because tubes are fun:
Audio-GD R2R 2 > Woo Audio WA3 > HD650/DT 1990 Pro

Well on my way to making my abode look like a pre-war electronics shop, with tubes all over the place

Edit; thank the goddeses for RSUs
