Hey everyone. Just recently bought a Fiio X1 and ventured into the world of HiFi music. Used to browse this site a lot whenever I needed a new pair of budget headphones. Finally decided to register.

Currently own a SoundMAGIC E80, VSONIC VSD3, KZ ATE and SoundPeats QY7.

Looking forward to being more active in the forums.

 Hi everyone!

After some cross reading the forums here I was very pleased with all the nice users and content, I finally decided to register. I´m a mechanical engineer from south Germany, working in the automobile branche. Therefore, my main Hobby is a 1987 Toyota I´m building up, but I also like having a Hobby that doesn´t require hard work outside the living rooms. To grant me that I was in the 3D printing and RC multicopter scene for a few years, too. But I can´t do this anymore, since it requires quite some space my daughter has better need of now.

I´m using headphones at home for nearly all my "electronic entertainment" and got myself some ATH M50s a few years ago. Mostly because I don´t have any sources that could feed better ones. But even those headphones showed me, that there´s some ... sry, I don´t know how to write this in English, but I guess, you all know what I mean

it was like only knowing and driving Lada all my life and suddenly switching to BMW... me wants mooar!

So I decided to buy an amp for the M50s and maybe for upgrading them later to something better. But during my search I realised that there´s nothing useful in my price range of <300€. That lead to the decision to build my own. I know that this will cost a lot more than 300, but now it´s labeled as "hobby project (with benefits)" and not "another bought gadget", what makes it totally reasonable for me

Also, I always wanted to go deeper into electronics and it´s a "hobby" that can be stowed away in a few boxes and doesn´t go south when not attended weekly.

Right now I´m done with the BOM for an M³ with PSU and DAC (in one enclosure) and started ordering parts. It will take some more months until it´s finished and I don´t know what´ll come after. But I already saw that I can learn a lot from you and the forum and hope I can give something back sometimes!

cheers
Tyan

I am currently new here I joined the community cause I really found them really helpful, specially in asking pro and amateur advise on what to buy. Save me a lot of trouble and overspending.

Hi
My name is Per and have a deep passion with hifi and headphones. I am an engineer and have good knowledge in electricity and acoustics. Scholarship in electrical and working with engineering. Know how stuff works.

I have a huge hobby with headphones and DACs. I am very interested mechanically and digitally how it works and am a big non-believer in products that sound good on paper, sounds cool and all that fancy schmancy stuff for huge amount of money that works practically as good other products.

I am a planar magnetic fan and Hifiman is my favorite brand of headphones. Even if the he-1000 is too expensive. But damn is it good.

I am here on head-fi for spread my knowledge about headphones i have tested and also some information to educate these audiophiles something. I am here also to get other opinion and their knowledge. I want to start some threads about this.

I do some modding too, with the acoustic in headphones.

Thank you moderator. Sincerely Per

Can some one help me to change my user name?
I tried to change it from my profile page but there is no such option to change. I found that only ' administrator or moderator' can help me to change my account user name. So is there any moderator who can help me to change? Please I really want to change the user name.

Greetings everyone.  This hobby is both amazingly fun AND terrifying.  Terrifying in that I can easily see myself getting in too deep.  Nonetheless, I'm enjoying it for now and really appreciate all the great information that is shared here.

Hello every body
It has been a long time since I started visiting headfi but this is my first thread. I had a lot of good advice reading different subjects especially before buying new headphones ( by the way I am a sennheiser hardcore fan :) ). Anyway now a group of engineers and myself are planning to launch a startup to commercialise a new design of portable headphones with a unique design and any help would be appreciated. I don't know if I should post the full thread here or in another section and that's my first question :D Thank you in advance.
The name is Al by the way and English is not my mother tongue so sorry if I make mistakes
