New member Doug here. I've been in lurk mode for 1+ year, since I decided to shop for a good DAP. I've had a few cheapo units, tried the phone, but finally decided to get the Fiio X1. It plays lots of format, has a line out and has removable memory. I've got lots of uncompressed music, about 100 gigs. Over 20+ years I've digitized hundreds of my 2000 LPs. I used to record to tape for the car. When CDs came along I found an early TEAC CD burner to hook into my receiver (like a tape deck) and I started burning CDRs for the car. I realized that CDs don't keep very well, so I save them all on a hard drive. My digital collection keeps growing -- as I listen to my records, I am always digitizing. The Fiio X1 allows me to listen to the best of the collection in the office, car, wherever. Had it for almost 8 months now. And to think I started listening to music in the late 60s on an AM Panasonic transistor radio and Singer portable record player and my first purchased record was Three Dog Night "One" -- so that dates me!

Jalen here!

New to the audiophile scene, but I've always appreciated nice sounding things. Been rocking Sony MDR 7506's for the past six or so years, but now that I've got a real job, I'm very interested in upgrading. As a result, I've been lurking around here for a fair amount of time now. Still not sure on what I plan on upgrading to, but hopefully I find out soon!

Hi, I am Kenji posted from Japan.  Recently (actually last year 2015) I replaced my main and sub audio system including head gear because my old staffs were really old ^_^;   I still own Denon's CD player DSD-1550AR (bought in 1997) feeding to pre-main amp, but I am switching it to PC audio system through DAC.  I am currently using foobar2000 or Hysolid as PC audio player.  I purchased ifi's iDSD nano first, which was amazing because it is completely beaten my old Danon's CD player!!  Then I decided to purchase ifi's iDAC2 micro very recently which is truly worth for investing.  My systems are now as follows;

Main: ifi iDAC2 micro > Marantz PM6005 > Dali Mentor Menuet SE
Sub: ifi iDAC2 micro or ifi iDSD nano > FOSTEX PM0.3
Head: ifi iDAC2 micro > AKG K-712Pro

Hello everyone, I'm a new member here. I am a long time musician (guitar/sax) who kind of put it aside to focus on my career in web development. Now that I'm settled and in a good spot with my career I can get back to my favorite hobby which is listening and playing music. My first step is to start LISTENING again and discovering new artists, etc.

I was listening with just some Sennheiser Momentums through a FiiO E10k, and was ready to upgrade to my first real setup.

I just got some HD600's as it seems like those are a pretty universally liked headphone, especially as someone who wants to get some good starting reference as to what kind of sound I'm trying to find. Also have a Schiit Vali coming in the mail this week, hoping to get some more volume out of it than the E10K which I'm sure I will.

Anyways just saying hello and I look forward to spending all my money in the future by recommendations and reviews on this great website.

Andy.

Hello everyone.

I joined last year but never got around to introducing myself as I'm a total noob.

Found this site while researching about the K7XX and it has certainly been interesting getting a peek into the headphones world.
I'm looking forward to learning more and reading some interesting discussions while enjoying my music.

New forum member. Purchased some Head-Fi earbuds years ago and now very interested in DACs. Watching the for sale thread for used Schiit Bifrost Multibit units.

Welcome to head-fi, and I hope you do not have to wait long to fine a Multibit Bifrost, in the forums. If you have any questions please ask, I am sure someone will eventually answer them.

I think electronics are cool, I own a pair of 558's and PortaPros, debating buying an amp, as well as looking for a pair of headphones to block out noise while also being as perfect as possible for listening exclusively to the album Illmatic by Nas when I go to Smash Bros tournaments. Just got a new job so I'm looking to move up in the headphone world :)
