Welcome guys. Looks like we have a lot of new members of late. That's great.
The site is a great resource and the people here are it's greatest resource.
Hopefully you'll all help each other and the rest of us to save money and enjoy the music we all love even more.

Hi, I'm a new member from the UK. Joined last week. Have been looking at this site for about a year or so and have now taken the plunge and joined. I bought a little dot 3 last year. To run with my Quad system. 1000p cd with transport upgrade 99 pre amp. 2 X 909 power amps and 22L speakers. Rega planer 3 turntable. Which I've had for the last 10 years or so.I love the system but as time and children have come along and circumstances change. I am finding it more and more difficult to listen to music through speakers. So I decided to buy a headphone amp as the system has no facility for headphones

The reason that I've joined is that I've just started my tube rolling adventures after running the little dot 3 on the stock tubes. With Sennheiser Momentum 1.0 Which I used to use as my phones around town. I figured that before I splash out on some new headphones. Why not spend £50 on some tubes and see what the results are.So my next post will be what those results are. I'll also let you know what tubes i bought and what tracks I've tested them on. It's thanks to this site that I managed to make a decision as to where to go for tubes and what ones to choose. But like anything my ears are different from everyone else's and its all down to personal choice but if I can help someone through this minefield of tube rolling that's good enough for me. Happy listening. Next post in a couple of days.

Hey Everyone!
New member here as well, been looking at this site for about 6 months now and finally decided to join. Been looking to start my journey into great headphones. I listened to some in the Best Buy Magnolia Room and found a vast difference between good headphones and what I used to consider good headphones. Just need a little bit of direction for great audio on a budget haha. Great seeing a community this helpful still thriving on the internet.

Howdy,

New member here. Lurker for years, mainly because I don't have lots of time to lurk (too much good music to listen to, plus a young kid).

Audiophile since, I dunno, '84? Like both (old) vinyl and digital. Would buy more speakers if my wife would let me (headphones easier, y'know).

Big rig:     Naim, Linn, Rotel, PSB, Musical Fidelity V-DAC2
Head rig:  Vali 2, Magni/Modi 2U
Phones:   Grado SR60, Creative Aurvana Live, Beyerdynamic T51i, Philips Fidelio X2, Bose QuietComfort 20, and Sennheiser in-ear buds I don't remember
Misc:        Peachtree Audio deep blue 2,iBasso D-Zero, Pure i20, Fiio X1, iPods galore, and of course I'm Fulla Schiit.

Thanks to posters on Head-fi for the context I've needed to buy the X2 and the Schiit. Hope to make it to a Seattle meet-up sometime soon.

Ciao,
Lorenzo

With all the gear you have, I'll take your statement as being "I'm Fulla Schiit" with a pinch of salt LOL

Welcome to all the new members :)

Thanks. Luckily for you (and everyone else), I don't try to push my hearing on others. I've learned we all "hear different" (whether we like it or not) to riff on Apple's marketing slogan.

FWIW, I find it useful when people compare gear directly on music I know or can reference. Hard to read between the lines to get this but worth it as eventually enough reviews suggest something of the character one perceives from a piece of gear. That's worth some salt!

Hello all,

This is my first time posting on Head-fi so hopefully all is good! I have used head-fi numerous times in the past when purchasing new audio equipment and by going by peoples recommendations have never been disappointed! my latest purchase being a pair of sennheiser hd 598 and they do not disappoint! I thought it was about time to become a user myself and join in on the head-fi community.

happy listening
