Hi Head-Fiers! I'm a new member and my interest in headphones is also pretty new. Actually for many years I did not like headphones very much, other than when needed (e.g. when travelling). But this summer I bought a pair of the Sennheiser 6xx from Drop, and then the Beyer DY177X GO, and from there, I've increasingly been interested in getting some exposure to different headphones. (Partly this is because I've been doing more streaming from my laptop, and headphones make an easier connection.) So, although I'm not likely to comment much in the forums, I'm looking forward to being here, reading, and learning more about the hobby. Next up, I am going to try to learn some more about burn-in, and, specifically, whether it's possible to tell if a gently used pair of cans has already been "burned in."

All the best

Welcome. What are your thought on both headphones? And which one do you prefer? I might get a DT 1990 but could switch to DT177x since there's a really good in the marketplace.

Hello!! new here as a user. I have been looking at this web page for quite some time to see what people think about a product.
For example, that's why I currently have a Fiio M11 and a Pioneer HRM-7, haha:L3000:

Hi, and thank you! I need a lot more time with them. And I think I forgot to mention I do have the DT 1990 as well as the 177X GO. If I'm home, I have a slight preference for open headphones, partly for the usual reasons (slightly better sense of space), partly because they tend to ameliorate the tinnitus in my right ear a bit more. I have not tried head-to-head, back-and-forth switching between the 1990 and 177X. I don't think it would be that easy to do either as the latter with lower impedance is going to be louder. In any case, the 1990 may be my favorite. It is also the most comfortable set of headphones on my head. How much of a price difference between the two are you seeing? Will you be listening at home or when out and about?

I just grabbed an Ananda stealth magnet for listening at home. Hopefully I will be lucky with their QC issues lol. I might wanna get a closed-back headphone for work though. I found a 177x go for 250$ and DT 1770 Pro with an extra cable and dekoni pad for 300$ so I might consider either of those.

I think the industry has gotten a lot better in the last 10 years, I'd look into some planar IEMs just to catch up on the new sound.
Also on the planar front Hifiman has a very good planar homage to the legendary Sony MDR-R10, this is the HIFIMAN HE-R10P

Pozdrowienia z Polski.
