Funnily enough, I've been using a V-MODA VAMP with the Roxannes with good results. I'm not sure if custom IEMs were ever an intended pairing, but it is very satisfactory.
Been watching your Portable High-end Headphone Amp Guide..i think you should do more video reviews when you are reviewing headphones/in ear monitors..you get straight to the point and don't mince your words !
Thanks. I'll see if I can't do a quick Roxanne video this weekend actually.
I need to order the aftermarket cable very soon...this stock cable seems very poor job whoever made this cable...
The aftermarket cables will use the same connectors, as they will be provided by JH Audio. I imagine whomever manufacturers them is responsible for the issue, but, Jerry did tell me I don't need to do them up tight, in case that is any way related to the problem. It'd be interesting to know if people had them break when putting them on or removing them.
strongly agree...therefore we should order aftermarket cable is strongly advise.
Since it uses a new 4 pin system and also needs a way to adjust the level of Bass ... It might be while before we can purchase aftermarket cables. The good news is, it works fine without the locking nut. Even if the new one breaks: I believe the heat-shrink would hold it in place (I have been using it without the locking nut).
Tomorrow I will have the new cable on my hands, maybe it was just a bad batch of locking nuts
On my dream cable, the Bass adjustment would not require a screw driver, I would have a single adjustment for both drivers (left and right) and the locking nut would be some sort of light metal / (aluminum?).
I asked Jerry about this and he said it would result in a much bigger device attached to the cable, which would probably be inconvenient. Those pots are tiny. I don't know of any equally tiny that are that small and have knobs. Maybe you could trim a fingernail to fit?
Here's a close-up of the locking nut. Notice the mould line in the middle which is where they seem to be breaking.
