New iRiver AK70

mmm.....USB out is a good option to have, in addition to other options (line-out, optical etc.). Case in point: a DAP (acting as transport)  connected via USB to the WA8 (bec. the amp and dac of the WA8 Eclipse is very good). There's at least one confirmation that the USB out of the AK 70 works with the USB in of the WA8.

This is a bummer if the CDM doesn't work. Now I'm considering getting the W8. The ak70 does work flawlessly with the Mojo and Shure KSE1500 Dac/amp. It is my favorite transport for the mojo and KSE because of the size and portability. I can actually use the KSE on the go now without feeling like I'm carrying multiple bricks.

Maybe it is the cable but then it shouldn't work on the Mojo or AK380 either. Can anyone else test it?

Going from 64 GB to 128 GB microSD I notice that loading becomes laggy. So we can use large microSD card but operating the device can becoming laggy.

I use as many high bitrate songs as I can, it means I need the space but hopefully the smaller tracklist means it does not slow down.

I'm using a sandisk 200gb formatted Fat32 (MSDOS Fat). Works very smooth, slighty better than AK100II.

Thanks Gu1b0 for the update exactly the confirmation I was looking for, so the limit in the manual is a soft limit, sweet.

Now I have to get an OTG cable and give this a whirl with my Hugo, mind you I was drawn to the direct out sound and it is still enjoyable. I like how I can plug it into the big system, sit on the couch and drive it with my iPhone and the AK app from anywhere in the house. Good usability.

I would say it belongs to the first group too digital sounding that you dislike.

Hi, do mind to let me know how the sound out put from Ak70 compare to chord mojo?
is the chord mojo better than AK70 since you connect it with mojo.
Thank you.

No idea why but audio sanctuary in the uk (formerly custom cable) have the ak70 listed as £399.99!  That's at least £100 cheaper than amazon and the like.  Almost (almost!) tempted at that price.  Wonder if it's a glitch though (says in stock).

I just got one for myself. By the way I am a new member here :)

I noticed that
- 70 has more yellowish screen than 320 I own
- 70 responds slow when I push power button to turn on the display. My 320 instantly shuts screen on and off with power button but 70 is kinda slow when I turn it on. Turn off is fine.
- I feel some lags sometimes when I shuffle around the playlists.

Anyone have same issues?
My devices

I was just trying if it worked. Unless you are using hard to drive headphones, I would recommend using the AK70 out. With my monitors I prefer the ak70 output over the Mojo

Really?
So are you saying that a standalone ak70 with iems sounds better than the chord mojo connected to the ak70? Or better than the chord mojo connected to any source component?
