Compared to the dx200 what do you think?

I don't think the comparison is fair all the way, but let's do it.

AP200 vs DX200 (AMP1) - DX200 tends to enhance details in the midrange more than AP200, to the point where DX200 is a very musical yet detailed experience, where AP200 tends to be quite smooth and it tends to lack that ultra definition that DX200 has. The dynamics are good on both, but DX200 tends to slightly enhance the sensation and percpetion of speed with most IEMs and headphones, where AP200 sounds more relaxed by direct comparison. The soundstage is deeper on DX200, and has similar width with AMP1. You can feel the difference in price when it comes to software and such, but AP200 is still very satisfying to use!

hey
plz help me.

how to upgrade?
i ddint see also google store
You normally download this file from their website. AP200-0.2.0Beta Firmware http://www.hidizs.com/support.php

Download speed is very slow. Another member of Head-fi posted a link to his own, faster website. https://redirect.viglink.com/?format=go&jsonp=vglnk_151189075571213&key=1e99669452acedd7650a94861c9354cb&libId=jajwpna30101zlp1000DA249cwjoy&loc=https://www.head-fi.org/threads/new-hidizs-ap200-double-dac-android-based-smart-music-player.839108/page-86&v=1&out=https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1wvteAmyYYzVWf1z57PxiJp6r9WkKAFI0?usp=sharing&ref=https://www.head-fi.org/threads/new-hidizs-ap200-double-dac-android-based-smart-music-player.839108/page-85&title=New Hidizs AP200 double DAC Android-based smart music player | Page 86 | Head-Fi.org&txt=https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1wvteAmyYYzVWf1z57PxiJp6r9WkKAFI0?usp=sharing

- Unzip the file. (One of the files you unzip tells you how to install)

- Place unzipped "update.img" file either on your Microsd card, (OR on the player memory itself). Do NOT place it into a folder, but directly on that card.

- Insert card, and start player.

- It will ask if you want to update, say yes, and it updates.

- When it restarts it asks if you want to remove the update file. Say Yes, or it will ask to update every time your turn on.

NOTE: Someone here had a problem with updating firmware using this method. If it does not work, They had success placing the UPDATE.IMG file on the AP200's internal memory. Then turn unit of and on , as above, and it should ask if you want to update the firmware, etc... same.

Can someone compare it to Fiio X5ii in terms of sound?

I can compare Fiio X5 III (I do not owe v.II) to the AP200 even though Fiio X5 III is broken in for a long time and AP200 has break-in time of 12 hours. I am using Toxic Cables Silver Widow with Noble X from Massdrop (equivalent with Savant I guess). In term of details in high, smooth and musical midrange and defined bass I think AP200 is the best DAP (IMO) I have own including the Onkyo DP-X1 (I listened both Fiio X5 III and DP-X1 with balanced cable 2.5 mm TRRS connections).
Notes: AP200 software has been updated completely when I received the unit.

Kickstarter backer no. 464. Just received shipping notification for 128GB version. Reading all the comments about early issues, I actually hoped mine would ship later after they ironed out the issues.

I was a Kickstarter backer #634 and bought the same like yours. I received the ap200 yesterday in my mailbox but got an email notified the tracking number that my ap200 was on its way.

This is the answer : - ) and always fast transfer rate

Depends what the question actually was...

Maybe I misunderstood the problem that HamsterKing was having..
But don't see how a flash card reader will improve AP200 connectivity (Probably to a computer) when downloading music files to the AP200's internal memory ...

Or are you recommending Not directly downloading music files to the AP200's internal memory from a computer, but going to an SD card, and then with this reader to the AP200 ???

Or are you just recommending loading music Only to the SD Card outside of the Player? Agree this will be a faster way to move music to the SD Card, since the AP200 only transfers at USB 2.0 Speeds, not 3.0 like one would expect from USB type C.
