FWIW, this is a destructive operation and will wipe all your data.

power off the device
hold the power and volume up simultaneously until you get to the recovery screen.
use the volume up and down to select "wipe data / factory reset"
use the power button to select the option.

This should reset AP200. But this will reset the language back to Chinese. Before doing make sure you know the operation to choose your preferred language once it reboots. If you still have a firmware download there is a file called "System Language Settings.pdf" that has pictures to help out.
Thanks a lot.
I did exactly that, everything completely wiped. After clean install, changed the language from Chinese to English. Still when trying to make new login to Google Play Store, getting the same error message "Unfortunately, Google Play Services has stopped".

I have only been using mine in pure music mode. I think I had better leave it like that.

I never had problem before with Tidal app and android mode. I think that the problem should come from google/android and not from the DAP, so just wait and see what happen

Yes, I was thinking the same. Probably Google Play stopped supporting older versions of Android.

That would be stupid of them to do that... why would they want to decrease their customer base?

Yeah, I think it is related to something in Google Play services changing -- this very same (or highly similar) problem was reported in the Cayin N5ii thread, too, so it doesn't at all seem unique to the AP200.

Well, I found a few articles from yesterday and today with news that Google Play services are being discontinued for Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), but AP200 and the Cayin N5ii are both, I believe, running 5.1 Lollipop, so I'm not sure why this problem is happening on these DAPs -- presumably, it will be corrected by Google soon.

But, sadly, yes, that's a problem with a DAP that is on Android, if you want to run apps that rely on Google Play services (Google Play music app relies on Google Play services, for example, as does Apple Music, I believe. I don't think Tidal and Spotify do but I could be wrong) -- when Google sunsets / EOL's an old OS version (and Ice Cream Sandwich, 4.0, was released Oct 2011 -- so over 7 years old), it means those apps will just stop working.

Android 5.1 Lollipop, on the other hand, only came out in February 2015, so if it takes 7 years for Google to EOL an OS version, I suppose you can count on support until February 2022?

It's just that it costs to support multiple versions of API's from a technical standpoint, and at some point, a company doesn't want to have to support ancient versions, so they EOL the old ones.

Hate that word... I lost my Zombie Farm for that reason! LOL... now they are wandering somewhere in oblivion.

Of topic enough? :)

Solved....or, maybe not solved completely, but there's no more annoying pop up every 5 seconds.. I'm new to android world. Can I put a link to an external forum here?

Not sure if there are restrictions for people with low post counts here, but here's no general rule against posting links to external forums, but there may be some caveats depending on what the link is pointing to?

Ok, just cut & paste... So:

"Solution 7 - Revert the Google Play Services app to factory default version and the update. Worked for me to resolve this issue. To do this go Setting -> Apps -> All -> Google Play Services -> Disable -> Revert to Factory. Then once all the app complain they cant work with the old version, update the version."

I do exactly this except for the last part "once all the app complain they cant work with the old version, update the version". I don't care about android update, just about music and tidal offline, so it's enough for me

This is due to the device not being Google Play certified... I mentioned this back in April on the Facebook group and linked the article. If you look at your settings > Backup & Reset > Backup account. You will notice that it's backing up to a debug account now instead of your Gmail account.

Here is part of the reason:

I've tried the fix as labelled in the article and no luck there. I give up on this DAP, no updates and now this... very unhappy with this DAP right now.

OK, gave up with the Google Play and switched to the Pure Mode. The battery started draining faster and faster. Shouldn't it be better in the Pure Mode, when all background Android processes are switched off? This is a battery status, fresh after charging, for the Pure Music mode, Low gain, Volume set to 50% - dsd 64 playing.
Having 1:54 hour left just few minutes after the full charge, yesterday it was still over 3 hours. I might do one more reset to try to fix the problem, otherwise will just drop it off.
