Hello everyone,
The urge has come back, I find myself wanting something new
My details:
Currently own: Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 Ohm
Ordered: Shure SE215's.
Will mainly be using the headphones through my iAudio Cowon S9 and sometimes through my Dell laptop. I prefer the sound of my mp3 player
I listen to a lot of music. However I'll mention some bands or artists:
My favourites:
Dire Straits / Mark Knopfler
Eric Clapton
David Gilmour / Pink Floyd
but also;
David Gray
Deathcab for Cutie
Eddie Vedder
Queen
Bob Dylan
The Eagles
Billy Joel
Bob Marley
Guns N Roses
Simon and Garfunkel
The Beatles
John Fogerty / CCR
Honestly it's mainly guitar music that does it for me. I want solo's to sound amazing. I like being able to notice every instrument used in the recording. Together with nice sounding vocals ofcourse.
Previously owned:
Sennheiser HD555: Loved these really, sold them at the time to buy closed headphones instead.
Grado SR60: Kinda liked them, although honestly, I must admit I didn't give them enough use to appreciate them. Sold them when I moved to Australia.
What I'm looking for:
Something different from my DT770's. Don't get me wrong, I love the Beyers.. definitely going to keep them.
Open or closed, it doesn't really matter. If they're closed it'd be good so I could use them in public, but otherwise no big deal, they're mainly for entertainment at home.
I would like a headphone that has a lot of detail. I love hearing stuff in the background which you normally don't get to hear.
My considerations this far:
Sennheiser HD598
AKG K271 MKII / AKG K240
Thoughts please thanks!
