Yeah, it's all up to you. It's not going to give any advantage, but it's not going to hurt either.

Thanks for the opinion. I think I'll still go for the 200w just to play it safe this time. And yea, i usually only go to about 9 o'clock max on my amps. Nowhere close to the max. Depending on the headphones and the amp.

If I do end up getting the Luxman DA-200 DAC I will probably try a cheaper one. That DAC is only 10 watts max, I believe.

I remember there was another brand of convertors on AC2, one of those was serious overkill but had 2 or more outputs.

Hmmm. No worries for now. I'll look for one if I feel the need at a later date.

Anyone ever try one of these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Voltage-Step-down-Transformer-AC110V-130V-220V-240V-to-AC100V-for-300W-200W-/150673309120?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2314d43dc0#ht_4345wt_1270

I think I'll be going with a CSW-200W because the CCW-200W seem to be discontinued and hard to find at a good price now.

Alright. Got my AT-HA5000 with a CSW-200W ordered up. Along with the latest KOTOKO album. Should be a very very nice day when it all arrives. :)

Has anyone tried the lower end Kashimura transformers. I'm looking at the TI-200. Similar function to the CSW200W that I am slated to receive but half the price. I still have time to alter my order because it is a friend ordering for me, and he is still at work at the moment. Already sent him the payment though. :D

I have the TI-19. I'm not entirely positive, but I think the only difference between it and the TI-20 is that the TI-19 made for US / Canada and the TI-20 for Europe / Australia. Both are 1500W and have the same build.

Talking about overkill!

Did you go for the HP-A8 then MF or are you talking about the Onkyo?

Onkyo-DAC1000 and my various Stax amps.

Do you imagine the 200w step down transformer will be enough? Thanks!

More than enough :)

And i also think using plugging it in the surge protector wont cause any harm.

Great! Hope you're right.

BTW, the mentioned Kashimura 1500w transformer is pretty cheap on Amazon Japan. Just something to note if you know someone living in Japan who can snag it for you. If not, I know someone. Just let me know.

I may get that 1500w transformer if I do end up buying the Luxman DAC eventually. :)

Those Zus treating you well...I'd love a pair of their floorstanders.

If I hadn't got a deal on my HD800s I'd have ordered a pair of those today.
