Hi. Guys I want to buy the beyerdynamic t1 2nd gen. Right now the black edition is 699$ (Focus camera)and the silver is 745$ ( amazon). What’s the lowest price the t1 2nd gen have been? I like the silver more :/. The black would be 200$ less (no tax).

Focus camera had them for 649 & 700 for the black and sliver editions respectively...$700 is the lowest u can find them brand new on eBay

Thank you. I cant decide between the dt1990, amiron and t1 2nd gen. I really like my dt880 and dt990 both 600 ohm. I think i will go straight to the t1 2nd to save some money. I was thinking on buying the 3 at some time to really give them a try. I like the natural sound of the dt880. The bass of the dt880 is the most natural i have heard it scares me as it sounds and feels like my own heartbeat . I also like the soundstage of the dt990 ( i think the bass is a little to much and sounds boosted and a little bloom compare to the dt880).

The 880s are really special headphones

Hey guys, I've received my t1.1, and they are in excellent condition surprisingly, the ears pads look brand new, headband looks fresh even the cable connection plug still has the golden color, the color on the connector of all the other beyers I own have faded towards a more sliver color....btw I'm going to give my initial impressions bcoz u need months or even years to understand a headphone and then give a proper 'REVIEW' which has become a joke for most audiophile YouTube channels expect few. I'm happy i bought these an extra or complimentary can to own alongside my Amiron home. Dt 1990 and Amiron owners I would like to warn u....don't EVER think these cans even as a side grade....unless u have a $1000 amp or even more expensive even then it would be a side grade. Its like 5% better improvement on fidelity but it has a distinct and unique sound sig. Definitely very bright and fatiguing at higher volumes compared to the amiron but nowhere near sibilant like lot of people claim. Similar soundstage width with more airy presentation. The mid-range is strangely smooth and resolving, very hard to describe for me right now, I find both male and female be vocals to be very addictive to listen to...not much to the bass, it does alright. More impressions will come later sometime.

Haha.... definitely an end game can from either 880 or 990. My t1.1 is an early production model so it may be brighter. On the other hand the newer t1.2s especially the black edition is quite darker and smoother as described by lot of people on this thread. Congrats on your purchase though

hey guys, i know that many ppl dont believe in burn it but it seems to work every time with all of my headphones...dt770/880/990,hd598, hd650, amiron home and now t1. the sound has somewhat opened up right now. It sounds very clear and clean. impulse response is outstanding ...every beat sounds so clean and pure. i know these are strange words for audiophile ppl but i cant think of a better adjective atm. Obviously this has to do with the high impedance 600ohm damping stuff with the tube amp...dont want to go in detail with tube and high impedance hp pairing coz all of guys know that already. I'm using separately ordered rca, tung sol and some other tubes...cant recall the names of all of them...

surprisingly very few guys mention the true qualities and most brag about the treble. To me its a bright hp but not nowhere near fatiguing. i mentioned the fatigue thing but its in comparison to the amiron and hd650 and again from a guy who does live stream, plays music and is always at the desk for 3-4 straight or even more than that. its more of a habit and how u develop it, if u listen too much to darker hps at first like 650s then it'll take some time to get adjusted to these and then it would be okay. i used to have the 650 earlier then amiron and honestly i was little hesitant of getting t1 bcoz of the treble issues i've been hearing but now im literally shocked with this guy. again i listen to tremendously high volumes(very loud right now to actually test how high i can turn this baby up and not get extremely bright but i'm proud to say that i've returned with positive results) like 11 o clock on the darkvoice which is insane but even then the treble is fine, maybe coz i use a tube amp. now again u have those one or two rare incidents or music tracks where u may hear "the famous treble ringing", havent heard it till now only 2 days since i've owned it but im not going to count it bcoz nothing in this world is 100% prefect, neither u nor me.

But at a regular guys' pretty loud volume setting these sound lush smooth and warm, all in all very musical and very emotionally involving. it has a unique quality which will keep u coming back to it. T1 has the best vocals i've ever heard, the timbre quality is insane...if u swap it immediately with a 650 then u can easily spot the difference, its neither too forward nor recessed...its there where it should be. the bass is kinda flat but i like it that way...i actually like the dt880 due to the same reason coz in bass heavy tracks the bass can bleed into the mids sometimes, but not with these. again this headphone has very less improvement on the amiron and dt1990 fidelity wise but possess certain qualities that cannot be found in any other beyer( all of them have some plus points though) or any other hp in general...truly deserving of the flagship title imo.

I wanted to make a showdown of the high end beyers dt 1990 vs amiron home vs t1 and now i can understand that all of these hps are actually different flavored ice creams, neither one is an upgrade over the other, just sounds different. at the current retail ranging from 600-700 brand new(almost half compared to the original msrp of $1400) its pretty good value for money. u guys will like all of them but may fall in love with one !! My recommendation would be to use it with a tube headphone amplifier to get best results. Thanks

I've read a lot of reviews also on the t1.2's being too bright and I don't find that true at all, they have only been in my hands for about 3 weeks and are among my favorite hp's just amazing sound quality..

How about the sound leakage level, since it is semi open back.
Don't be misleaded by the semi open term here bcoz it actually refers to the headphone design and is not even remotely related with isolation. Sound will leak if turn up the volume everyone sitting close to you can hear what u r listening to but again it's not as loud as a speaker.
Most of the time ppl around you could hear the sound of something playing on your headphones but on most cases will not be able to figure out what u r listening to unless they come very close to u...
