The nubuk pads have product code EDT 1350 NL, so I guess the bigger pads also use 1350
 
Received mine yesterday, testing the bigger pads today. They seem to seal even better than the stock pads, bass impact is therefore improved a bit. Comfort seems a bit better also, but I'll have to wear them for longer to tell any difference.

I just want to clear this up before I order. I've heard these new pads called suede, velour and now nubuck. There is no model 1350NL. It's 1350N or 1350SL.

The lack of accuracy in posts made by well-meaning people has me totally confused about these ear pads, too.

How does the DT1350s fare with unamped portable sources? I'm considering it along with the M80s and M100s.

I find them just fine without an amp. With an amp I am sure they'll shine even more.

With the few portable amps I have used I have noticed a little benefit, but with full sized amps it is a pretty big jump in performance.  Not really an astounding finding IMO.

They are just fine. I can use them properly out of my Cowon C2 and Sansa Clip+. However, they scale up well with good amps  so if you're making room to upgrade in the future the DT1350 allows for that.

Would you mind identifying which model you prefer?

My two pairs state "EDT 1350 NL Nubuck" and "EDT 1350 SL Softskin large" on the package.
After just a bit of testing today I prefer the larger pads.
