To tighten the bass on the e70 you should give them a proper amplification.
So they don't play well out of smartphones or any other sources with low level of power.
I would recommend to have 150 mW, at least. To me ideal picture is around 400-500 mW per channel.

Btw did you get a pair of tips? They tighten the bass and or treble depending on the brand.

They play extremely well on v20 and v30.

Of course they get better with amplifier and tips will improve the sound. I use bliss 3.0.

Not yet. I think it would be an idea to try them first, and see how they fit. That should help in making decisions about what replacement tips to try.

That makes sense. But the V30 has an amp built in. Not the same as a separate one, but perhaps good enough. I'll use the E70s on other systems too, so they won't miss out on decent amplification in other settings.

Trying these Symbio W hybrids, though (having just said I will wait), as I'm curious about the combined tech' effect.

yeah i know the feeling. Memory foam usually wont go well with e70. Memory foam usually negatively effects treble. The Symbio W hybrids might sound good though.

You should try the sony hybrids or vmoda bliss 3.0 from Amazon also. Just return them if you don't like them.

Got a pair of the LS200's in about a week and a half ago. These are a fantastic take on neutral with a slight lift/forwardness in the mids. Even though I'm a borderline basshead I still love the dual BA implementation and for the price I paid ($165 NIB) these blow away a lot of other dual/triple BA setups I've heard/owned in the past including the Noble X, CA Nova, CA Orion, and SE535LTD. There's a lot of detail and songs just sound right to me and the staging is surprisingly wide. Not to mention the shell design and translucent red color are right up my alleyway. If I get the chance I'd like to listen to the LS300 and LS400 but from what I've read in this thread a lot of people preferred the 200 to its bigger brothers :)

The standard E70s tips are poor, frankly. And even the Comply memory foam items included are not that much better. I may order some Spinfits as well, as I see I'm going to have to play around with these to get the best from these ATH-E70s.
