I prefer dsdclk, but the fact that i use a Gustard u16 gives a specific signature to the sound. I find DoP too dynamic and that dsdclk has better soudstaging. So depending on your setup...

You need to put your own plug, I use a Viborg rhodium or silver plated

I have 4 of these in my system. The most significant change is from my PC but R7 also has made a big change.

Kingwa said that the EXT XO input will have the BNC- and the SPDIF input (music) will have the RCA connector on the final board/DI-layout. So yes on both functions

You assumed correctly... The SPDIF input allow you to reclock data and output say I2S with hopefully better timing. I believe the original DI's have this feature.

That's the idea. I know Kingwa has been working on timing also on the SPDIF transfer (gen 2 in latest firmwares). I expect this SPDIF input to be better than we used to.

I'm excited for Kingwa's new DDC so I can use II2s connection. This is the first DAC that I've ever had that allowed for such a connection. Always USB.

Kingwa's design is very good on paper. The amanero and fpga utilize the same clock references, using isolation to carry the clock to the dirty side to prevent contamination. The u16 seem to do the same, not sure, but i don't see any additinal xos than the two Accusilisons. Kingwa developped his own code and one thing is for sure, sound quality will be tuned using audio-gd products. If not really better or at least equal, i doubt Kingwa would release it. I for one am most likely getting the HE version as soon as it released.
