Could be the e12 if it's that end. Might be worth trying some de-oxit on both ends of the cable as well.

Definitely not the e12, it does this if it's just plugged straight into the PC or phone as well. Beginning to think it's broken. I assume that audio cables don't matter that much and I can just buy a cheap one from best buy/amazon?

I would try deoxit on the cable and headphone first. These sorts of issues are common with the T50RP regardless of the cable.

If you can't resolve it with a little de-oxit and a cotton rag (or denatured alcohol) on the headphone side, just PM me and we'll sort you out.  It's really rare to have problems with the 3.5mm fabric cable.

I actually think these sound better out of my Clip than my Vali and Modi stack. That leads me to believe the Magni would probably be a better pairing, because the last thing the MD needs is more warmth. While its a very unique and fun sound, the Vali and MD is simply WAY too warm for my liking, and it sounds congested. Burning in my Vali now to see if anything changes.

I bet you $1 it's the Vali doing that. That's what I got with my DJ100 (which is warm) and HD-650, but not with the Q701 or K400.

I would suggest pairing the Mad Dog up with the O2 instead of the Magni.

O2+Modi is one of the best budget combos i've heard. I actually even prefer the Modi to the ODAC!

They're very similar.  Magni is slightly edgier while O2 is slightly warmer.  Those differences don't really amount to much, especially at the price point.  They both trade blows with each other for performance and both perform around the same level, so get whatever looks better or is cheaper for you.

Yes they can. I used the cable from my Skull Candy Mix Master and used the Mic for a phone call. You can use a Mic with any headphone.

Hey guys,

I bought the V-Moda M-100's for Christmas and absolutely hated them.
After 15 hours burn in the sound drastically changed and have to say I'm decently happy with them.
Very vibrant sound.

Only problem is that I have a hard on for the Mad Dogs.
I know for a fact that the sound quality and musicality would absolutely blow away my M100's.
Would you guys suggest that I bite the bullet and return these and grab the Mad Dogs and a nice amp/dac?
What would be your ultimate choice for a setup using mainly music, tv, games.
Essentially a well rounded line up of all sorts of genres.
I'm looking for the whole package and I think the Mad Dogs are exactly what the doctor ordered.

Any thoughts, and thank you very much in advance!

Return the M100 and order the Mad Dogs.

They isolate extremely well and while they are generally considered to be comfortable, they are a bit heavy for some, which may or may not matter to you.

You would significantly benefit from using an amp with the Mad Dogs, and if you live in the US, I would suggest looking into getting one of the Schiit amps.  Without knowing the source(s) you have, whether or not you need a DAC or which one would be difficult to suggest.

In any event, if the Mad Dogs are absolutely not for you, they can always be returned.
