Smart move as I think they couldn't be further apart.
I would pit the Elear with the th600/900, and my bet is Elear would be like those but more neutral & darker.
:p

Also those that have original Ether having upgrade ability,
are in a much better position than those that recently purchased HD800 without upgrade to HD800S option.

I currently have the HEK, HD800, and Code-X.
Recently sold my Grado HP1000 & ultrasone ED5 for getting the Flow.
I personally haven't held a headphone with higher construction quality than the Ether.
So the flows probably replace my Code-X and be keepers for me.
Keeping fingers crossed. .

True but HD800 can be DIY mod to be as good as HD800S but it will be a very brave attempt to do so for the Ether to Flow. Nonetheless, please to hear that Dan has offered 40 upgrade slots. Hifiman just announced HE1000 V2, and I will be impressed if Dr Fang offers 40 slots. Keep in mind that the HE1000 price nearly twice of Ether.

Back to the C flow - will be very keen on these since I am still lacking a closed can. So far all the closed cans don't give me that soundstage as open cans. Ether C was close but I was wishing for more bass.

Edit: Redacted, (TMI)
:)
I plan to try(for fun) some pad rolling on the Flow,
with focusA and Omni pads..
Edit:
Thats Depending on how beautiful the Flow pads are . .
