I love the Alpha Prime, how does it compare to this? is it heavier than the AP?

It is lighter than Alpha Prime.

I'm sorry but that much for a modded $140 headphone is crazy. Be it everything else is custom made for it and all tuned, BUT it's still a glorified T50RP. I had heard other products from MrSpeakers, but they never, ever were worth their asking price.
 
I last heard the Alpha Prime and thought it was good, but not worth the cash. You guys can get mad at me, but that's just how I feel.
 
On a positive note, it looks slick as hell. Sexy and seductive even. I'm perhaps a bit anxious, but I'm not

I still won't follow the hype train till I hear one myself. Granted I've not heard the Ether, but from a few people I know who have them, they say they are good.

pretty. interested to hear impressions...just sold my th900, which were my favorite closed headphones, but looking to pick up another closed headphone in the future if it sounds really good. going mostly to stax now, but still need a good closed can for various reasons...this might be it. looking forward to it...
