Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

I find it interesting how this is already proving to be a controversial IEM. I think many of us knew from the beginning that it would not suit a lot of tastes, based on how it graphs, but quite strong opinions seem to be forming. Many of us are waiting for the SSP to come out, but I wonder if there will be any last minute adjustments to the SSR during this hiatus.
Very usual for a diffuse sound target related IEM. It's gonna be strange if everyone love ER4 style.
We make remove it from sale because the cable have design flaws that affect the QC, the sound is already decided.
Stay tuned for SSP maybe

If the SSP will be a bass boosted diffuse target iem, maybe with a more agreeable 3kHz bump, akin to the ER2XR or the Massdrop Plus, I'd certainly be intrigued.

My SSR just came in. Gotta love living in the good 'ol US of A.

Waifu? S-tier without a doubt. As for the SSR itself, I'll put some hours on them today, and see how they fare. Graph doesn't look too promising, but hey, I'll keep an open-mind haha.

About the Starfields, some people love them, some people find them boring. I think that's due to the following reasons (a part from personal taste ofc):
-earwax: I cleaned my ears yesterday and and my starfield suddenly became more lively, although still on the smooth side of things
-volume: because of the Munson-Fletcher curve, V-shaped transducers sounds better at lower volumes, while flatter ones like the Starfields give their best performance at a higher volumes. So, try playing 'em loud

I was so surprised that a lot of people don't know or don't believe that volume level affects that much on tuning. Volume level made people have different impressions because of that Munson-Fletcher curve.

The Fletcher-Munson curve was the reason for a Loudness control in past audio components. The Loudness control boosts the very low and high frequencies for low level listening since our ears lack sensitivity to these frequencies as the volume is reduced.

Currently try to upgrade from my 1more triple drive iem, i tried both starfield and kxxs, while starfield smoothness is some thing i can easy realize, KXXS sound really good but i feel like it lack little something.
Some ppl said with me that it will need more power for KXXS to archive it full potential, also burn in is much. Any opinion?

May I ask your current source that you're using to feed the KXXS?
