From what I read, Harman does update their target almost every year. So old gbuds probably following the 2019 version of harman while the new one follow the new harman target.Gbuds+ is kinda strange. Well, at least in my experience because supposedly it hits the Harman target pretty close.
It's either Harman Target isn't a good statistical preference curve or something funny is going on. Crin stats what he sees that is abvious, the 3k, but we see that rise in many iems that arn't harsh sounding. When I EQ'd, I noticed it was in the 7-8k that sounded too emphasized. Is it Harman or something odd going on?
In order to know how good(or not good) Harman target is statistically, we need to try other iems tuned to that target, not just Gbuds+ The problem is, we don't have other iems that is tuned so close to Harman.

around 4.4mmWhat size Comply tips do the Moondrop Starfield take? I found some spare that fit, but I have no idea what IEM I originally bought the tips for.
They’re definitely smaller nozzles than the 1More Quads.

to email them maybe? I think they do ask extra 30 for customyeah I know you are using engravings and not printing. I just cant photoshop .
And Shenshenaudio only has some specific engravings and not custom options.

https://www.moondroplab.com/s8VDSF is Moondrop's target curve.
@MOONDROP
Can Moondrop provide the curve of the VDSF taget for us all to see? The curve you guys are targetting? And also, can you guys explain the philosophy behind tthis curve? How VDSF came about and was chosen as the preference curve?
It's in some of our product manual, I only know It's based on HRTF and some listening measurements, will try ask our engineering department.

well our A8 and blessing V1 was tuned based on harman target at that time, but probably slightly different than the harman target you are gonna hear today, sometimes is just the design don't reflect your personal HRTF.Gbuds+ is kinda strange. Well, at least in my experience because supposedly it hits the Harman target pretty close.

Right, but what size Comply is that?around 4.4mm
Always a fan of a review site on Zhihu, Chose Headphones. Knowing them and Moondrop having a collaboration on an $160 IEM by the name of X-01 automatically put it on my buy list. I have nothing but good feeling about it. So far the Ch1n9 reviews has been stellar, comparable to ER4XR (same drivers anyway). Hope this picture turns out well.
I cannot find very accurate inner diameter information... On 4-5mm I think 200 series works.Right, but what size Comply is that?
We do have our own memory foam tip with distributors though...

I Use the Comply T600 on the A8 and S8 fwiw. Fits correctly

Do you prefer the sound or fit (or both) with the comply tips over the S8 tips?

From Herbert's twitter. Looks like the full-sized driver. @MOONDROP Any details on this? What is the material? What diameter?

Maybe dumb idea/thought but why no driver maker uses micro-triangular structure for membrane? I mean overall same shape like on pic but its made out of micro-triangular "web".
Triangular structure should improve membrane rigidness noticeably! At least in architecture/engineering it is one of the strongest shapes to make up a form without additional supporting structures.

@MOONDROP Do you know when the SSR and the unnamed SSR with warmer tuning will come out?

Yes very much. I went through about 20 tips on the S8 because the bores are so large. Settled on Comply T600 smalls. Perfect seal and fitDo you prefer the sound or fit (or both) with the comply tips over the S8 tips?
