So I'm approaching around 20 hours on my KPE which I picked up from the previous Massdrop release. Finally the pair is starting to resemble all the praise around this forum. I was a bit concerned at first, as it sounded quite non-spacious & congested out of the box. All the while, I was benchmarking against my current IEM of choice, the Massdrop Plus (which sounds nicely open and airy). But now, in direct comparison, I can hear it about equaling the Plus on sense of space and openness, thank goodness. The thing I am most impressed by though is the freakin' bass. Damn. It just slams so low, and seems bottomless... without bleeding into the mids. Yet it never seems overdone, and just conveys what's in the music material if it's super low. I think it's about the best IEM bass I've yet heard, so well tuned.

Now I've also ordered a second-hand A8. Need to stop buying as well.

Just got my KPE no thanks you lot
Only few mins in and the bass who say it's not enough?
I'm a hip hop and edm listener and it's tight and just nice. Can't wait for 100h in!!!

He tested the BGVP DMGs and they had a similar high end thing going on, so I have to conclude those sound great too even though they sound crap in his test.

+1. Thankfully that's his last in ear review. Did he ever think to burn in for 50-100 hours? Not sure where he's coming from...I don't get any sharpness or treble peaks whatsoever anymore.
Was it ever that peaky there anyhow?...DM6 was far worse in that region.

That rig has some kind of eq applied so to as compensate for it not being anatomically correct. In other words, all wrong.

Have you HEARD it - Sounds dreadful and what the heck is that piece of UN-reference music he uses??
Its a bit of a joke because you listen though Youtubes compressed audio with Your PC/Mac sound card and the with your Headphones ? Makes no sense
