Revisted the Blessing 2: Dusk today. They've been neglected for a long time. It's been a minute since I've listened to them, but man these still sound so special. Pairing with the R6 2020 is a match made in heaven. I am reminded how synergy plays such an important factor. Playing around with MSEB, the vocals are coming off so lush and sweet. I could never let these go; they're staying in my collection.

I have a pair of OG Blessings 2 bought around two years ago which has served me well but i was looking to move it on to a pal at work. Have been using it with a pair of 3rd party cables since the very start. Just recently when i tried to remove the cables, it wouldn't come off easily as though the pins have fused themselves into the connectors. As i tried to pry with my fingernails, i heard a soft pop sound and the faceplate fall off and the whole 2 pin connector of the earpiece came loose too.

Now, i live in a temperate country so humidity may have been a contributing factor but it kinda feels like Moondrop have been skimming on glue. Previously, I have had issues with the mesh filter of the Blessings 2 whereby the ones applied on the earphones out of the box fell off as i was tip rolling. Went and ordered a set of so called "upgraded" mesh filters from Shenzhenaudio but these too would fall off every so often till the point i end up using the earphones without the mesh filters. Did a bit of dissecting on the mesh filters and the issue was very apparent. The thin layer of mesh simply would not stick and stay on the glue ring because there was little to no glue applied on the ring itself.

I guess my point of this rant post is to say that while Moondrop no doubt makes fantastic sounding iems but their product QC leaves quite alot to be desired.

Well the 2 pin connector fell off too though the wiring are still attached and the earpiece still manages to produce sound. Even if i was to glue everything up, there is no way i can sell them off in such a patched up condition.

The 2 pin connector is held on by the backplate pressing it into a notch. It will go back together the same as it was constructed if you glue it well.

Red + Blue = Gold?

Still relatively new to Head-Fi and wanted to visit the Moondrop Impressions thread to finally contribute to it after many months of lurking as a non-user of HeadFi

I think that the Harman Neutral sound of the Blessing2 mixed with the WM1Z is hands down one of the most "natural and organic' listens I have had. Its something I can pop on and just listen and listen. I mainly listen to Jpop and Anime stuffs (Honeyworks, LiSA, LIPxLIP etc.) and the WM1Z gives a slightly darker presentation to the Blessing2, making the bass rumble just a little bit more while giving it very smooth sounding highs. Just engaging enough.

I really think that a Moondrop IEM plus a Sony DAP/source really is where its at.

Highly recommend the Hidizs DH80S for KATO synergy together very well.
And for those who wants a slightly tamed sound for KATO pure OCC copper cable is the best match.
The current combo brings the warmness to the sound without sacrificing treble sparkle and details.
The sound is more organic, bass and low mid is slightly thicker, upper mid less shouty. Lower treble is slightly tamed

Which ear tips did you settle with? Did you choose them for tuning or for comfort?

I'm using Spinfit CP100 Size L, best fit for my ears so far as well as tuning, may be they fit so they can provide the best sound to my ears (best bass response).

The stock Spring Tips is unfortunately too small, waiting for Moondrop's larger size release.

My Kato set should arrive next week. I’ve heard the spring tips are small, practically speaking. Would you guess it’s a half size or full size smaller. A lot of people are liking them…
Spring tips are smaller than 12mm in diameter, even smaller than the Spinfit CP100 M.
The minimum tips diameter for my ears canal is 12.5mm.
So I think your mileage may vary tho.

Are you saying the Spring tips ‘medium’ is smaller than 12mm? Azla shared the following size guides with me. They don’t necessarily relate to Spring tips, but they allow us to judge best fit for those familiar with Airpods. For example, you’re apparently a size ‘M’ for Airpods and Azla.

Oh, Sorry I forgot to mention. I was compared the Spring tips' Large size.
The "smaller than 12mm in diameter" statement is actually referred to some comments on this thread, I don't have the right tool to measure them tho.
Here the picture of Spingtip size L vs some others tips (13mm)
