I did quite enjoy it on some parts of the song Sweet Weather, but it gets annoying at 0:53. Not sure if I was listening to the right one though! The hiss on old recordings is fault of the old recordings- many of my mother's old classical albums are like that. I can't say much about recent virtual sound processing software (I'm sure they have improved), but I did try out a few years ago with the conclusion that they generally degraded sound quality. Some did enhance the sound or introduce hints of surround; but at the expense of sound quality, realism and thus enjoyment was ultimately diminished regardlessGuys,
My Aria has arrived.
First impressions (without burn-in),
Bass: it's a good bass. For my taste it is neither very present nor very absent. In some tracks I feel a very good kick, in others I don't. I really think it depends on the mix of the track, but for me, it could even have a little more "kick". In extension, I think the bass is very good, for example, on Korn's MTV Unplugged (Live) album (especially on the song Make Me Bad / In Between Days), I can hear the bass and guitar strings vibrating after the notes.
Mid: I really like what's going on here, everything is very clear. For me the instruments are totally distinguishable, with many details present. The vocals are neither behind nor the front, they are exactly where they should be, although they could be more "detailed". In fact, this question of the vocals being exactly where they should be, makes Aria very pleasant for long sessions of music.
Highs: perfect. I love how Aria reproduces cymbals and rattles and this is very evident on the track "Midas Shadow - 2001 Remaster" from Ai Stewart's Year of the Cat album. Higher notes are also played very well.
Aria has very good airness. However, in remastered and older albums, I often hear background hizz. I can't say exactly why that happens...
Since not everything is perfect, I strongly believe that Aria appeals more to some types of specific genres like pop. I can't say exactly why, but this sound signature works VERY WELL with bands like The Neighborhood. I invite everyone to listen to the song Sweet Weather and confirm this fact.
Apart from my first impressions, I would like to ask a question of everyone. I'm currently using my "Asus TUF B450M-PRO GAMING" motherboard as a source, it has a feature called "DTS Custom" and it greatly improves Aria's sound signature. Do you think features like DTS make the sound very artificial? I emphasize that my first impressions are with the DTS turned off, but when I turn it on, Aria becomes something else (which I particularly like more). I'll leave a screenshot of "DTS"...

I like specific parts of Sweet Weather too! But in general, I think it's a good EMI for this type of music.I did quite enjoy it on some parts of the song Sweet Weather, but it gets annoying at 0:53. Not sure if I was listening to the right one though! The hiss on old recordings is fault of the old recordings- many of my mother's old classical albums are like that. I believe you were listening to the right one ()
In fact, DTS does enhance the signature. But I can't say in what sense, I know that the voice becomes more forward and the bass is a little more present, but at high volumes there is distortion. At least in the first "Aerial" mode, I don't notice surround, but in the other two, yes.
The cool thing about buying a new IEM is to play songs that I haven't heard in a long time and realize how they sound better in some IEMs and others in not so much.
I would like to say that Aria is good for all styles of music, but I would not easily recommend it to a friend...
Maybe my impression will change after 100 hours of burn-in, because I realized that after about 5+ hours of session, the bass won a bit more of "kick".
If anyone is selling their cable that came with the Moondrop Aria please let me know. I would like to use it on another set of IEM's. Thank you

That's not up for me to judge(like the always controversial anime packaging), but I''ll be sure to let them know
the one with 水月雨 & MoonDrop
the MOONDROP Co.
From someone with gaming graphical designing experience who also tried to localize Eastern culture to the Western one, I personally found the the one with Kanji 水月雨 with capital MOONDROP would have a good match for Western audiences. The Kanji is very cool! Also the logo with circles metaphors Moon makes sense, maybe you’d consider asking some designer to add “Drop” to that ️. Not overly exaggerating, just a slightest hint of a raindrop. As Kanji is hieroglyphs, the letter rain “雨” could use a good hint. The name moondrop somehow reminds me of Ancient Chinese poet, Li Bai’s songs.
Also I’d like to thank who deaigned the blue leather case, it look and feels as good as Kate Spade wallet that I spent $300 as a gift

I may find a primitive reasoning why mankind resonate with pinna gain.
Just used Dusk and it has 3khz pinna gain, which perfectly aligned to mine, then playing this wolf howling video, the resonance is harmonized
It’s the harmony of communications!

My vote on Aria +1 for those genre, for Jazz/Classical/Piano I’d pick Starfield. For pop, edm, rock/alternative, & Rnb music, which is best, aria or starfield? Thanks much..
Do note that Aria needs 100 hours of burn-in as manufacturer stated. I actually on 150th hours of listening, Aria’s mid range muffle problem is almost gone.
