I have 2; so brought the one from the office back home during the wait.... Had a Sennheiser HDV 820 loaner (used it at work); it was _so_ bad when comparing to the 430.

Hi Sir,
Were the Power Inverter and Relay switch the culprits? Looks like mine is gone and need replacing. I have ordered them. Was yours under warranty? As mine was bought 2nd hand, the warranty was not transferable. Lucky the parts were cheap. Hope they are in by today to be replaced, and then hopefully she fires up again. I have also bought some SR20 fuses for her. Hope everything turns out fine.

Ive been thinking of upgrading the internal dac of my 430had. Was going for the Yggdrasil 2 but have been Reading that Hugo 2 dac is equal or better then the Yggdrasil? @Currawong also wrote this. Anyone tried the Hugo 2 and Yggdrasil with the 430ha? Any inputs before i pull the trigger on one of these?

I use a second input and use my PS Audio DirectStream DSD DAC with the 430HAD. I go back and forth between the two DAC's for variety.

I tried A-B with my lcd 4 from 3,5mm out of ipad pro. And 4pin xlr from the 430had. I cant understand that there is so small of a difference in sound between just an crappy ipad and my desktop. On some songs i cant Even tell the difference. How could that be? if im using tidal app on ipad pro, its a huge difference since it doest provide enough volume. But roon does!

It does take awhile to break in, as most will confirm. Stick with it...

This is almost universally the case for any amp. Whether or not the amp "sounds" better at low or high gain is up to debate, assuming all levels and headroom are the same otherwise.

As my Moon 430HA is burning in the sound with my new LCD4 phones is absolutely spectacular! During the burn in it can be a little frustrating as it is a roller coaster ride with good sound and not so good sound but from what I’ve heard this evening it’s worth the ride.
